We had lavender all along the front of the house when we moved in last year, but it had been allowed to get all straggly. We took it out and planted some new lavender earlier this year. It's looking (and smelling!) great. We also planted a beautiful purple clematis up against the wall. First few flowers have opened and it is stunning.0

48 isn't so many if you are planting as hedging for example.
We bought lavender from a lavender specialist nursery earlier this year. Its amazing really, the variety of shades simple lavender comes in, before even looking at French lavender. I think it would be much more chic to go for one or two varieties, but we got several, because we're not that chic and more interested in enjoying the plants than being chic. We did't get anything too outrageous ( apart from a French lavender that's sort of green and smells of citrus) but its still staggering how much choice there is.0 -
Who hoo,
Managed 4 od.
Watched the Mormon thing. Much better than many of these sorts of things I thought, less repetition than most. Very sad. I have no objection if they want to do one of those posthumous babtised on me, it means nothing to me, but its sweet They care to when it does to them.0 -

I have a purple clematis climbing up my fence, and I love it.lostinrates wrote: »Who hoo,

Yay! Well done lir! :TDo you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
I bought clematis napaulensis this year. I'm really hoping it does well here. I was looking for a very dark and very big clematis but gave up as couldn't find one I liked. Instead I bought a chocolate vine, but mistakenly bought a cream one! So now I have to buy the dark one too, but you need two really any way I think. Never grown them either.
I'm going to buy a few roses for the back garden this autumn, and we need three more trees, but cannot decide which three we want most.0 -
Why do I always go missing at the same time you lot start a new thread?
Starting to get a complex y'know...
Anyhows, from the last thread:I want to reassess my life after this. I have too much stress going on which I don't like, want or need. I work in a job wherr I'm always sorting out stuff that's gone wrong. It's challenging but sometimes basically impossible. The worst burning is in my mouth now so I don't think so. I think I need the treatment to finish and then some time for the burns to go away.
It's also burned the corner of my mouth where my lips meet so I can't open my mouth properly. *Fed up with this whole thing smilie*
However, we're now done & dusted. Take it steady for the next couple of weeks, make sure you can walk before you run.PasturesNew wrote: »Well, at 2pm I wanted to come here to say I was bored of waiting .... but my PC was too sluggish and Avira forced an update, which then nagged for a restart... so I restarted and now it's too sluggish to use..... and then ....
The phone rang at 3pm. All done/dusted. So I just arranged the buildings cover.... and am now on my laptop.
It's ferkin real and that's a whole weird feeling....It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Dozier girl, my lawn chickens love your cousin. They are lined up behind him watching him. While he does stuff they are grooming and watching him and the boy is crowing.0
