I have a roofer coming this morning.

    Fingers crossed please.

This one is coming via recommendation of the skip people. Incidentally, the skip people phoned fir for directions. The skip people then said.....oh, are you where doozer used to be?

Fir said yes, we are where doozer used to be. :)

    Seems to make sense. :)

My pet hate is people who phone me whilst they are doing something else. They have 100% of my attention, but I don't have 100% of theirs.

I had a wonderful conversation with someone who phoned me up and then complained that she couldn't hear me very well. It turned out that she was calling from a subway train in NYC! Not the sharpest tool in the box, that one.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I'll be glad when the conservatory's finished. Two blokes today. You might wonder "what's it to do with you, really?" ... well, I'm sitting here by my (open a little) patio door ... and they are working just 8' away from me. The "joy" of small plots.

If they weren't there I'd have cut the grass by now .... and opened both patio doors wide.

I can understand not wanting the doors open. I feel just the same ( gardener is working just outside cheese room) but tbh I'd cut lawn any way. While they have lunch or something.

They don't have lunch ... and/or they stay there. I've never noticed them stopping for lunch ... their pace of work is quite slow and they stop for a lot of chat-and-stare sessions ....

One is the sole-owner of the business and the other one seems to be his "lumbering, slow helper".

One's now on the roof ... so close, if he falls he'll bang his head on my patio door.... it's not good having strangers looming over your window from 7' above you.

I can't believe how long this is taking them. It's now the 9th day of work (straddling two weekends of no work). It's just a regular 9'x9' white uPVC thing. Not built over drains or anything complex.

Should have been finished a week ago. They must win the "slowest builders ever" award.....

Somebody else I know that had one built had the foundations down one day - and it took one man one day to put it up.

Chucking stuff out. Re-organising my office is spreading across the house. Emptied a lovely multi-drawer pine chest thingy which is really just a junk depository, to go on ebay. I'm getting terrible anxiety about the things I'm not doing while I'm doing something else.

This is pretty crap. Procrastinating then doing stuff and panicking.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I don't think any of you crossed your fingers. He didn't turn up this morning. When ohoned he said he drove up and done road around the corner for half an hour and couldn't find it.

Rearranged for two -3 pm, and said, ' if you cannot find it CALL' . No sign yet. :(

Hahaha, he just turned up, he says he'll do it tomorrow. Now let's hope. ( he's also cheaper than any one else)
