The buyer will eventually get her karma

I hope so. You shouldn't bite the hand that feeds you.

Who = lodger for the next month. Someone visiting work.

Though I might have another lodger lined up for after that. A colleague who needs somewhere to stay for a few months.

I'm hoping this will work out well. Low-maintenance in-house babysitters. The house is cleaner that it has been in ages, I'm less likely to sit here eating my bodyweight every night. And they know I'm supposed to be working.

3 hours half way, traffic looks worse now on m5. Normally whole journey takes about 3 hours.
    I think....

... if you'd chosen the teddies and lobbed them into the car, then grabbed the kids by the scruff of their neck and chucked them into the car too and said "There's no discussion, get in the car or we're not going"...... you'd have been eating ice cream hours ago .... and right now you'd be sitting on a bench, looking out to sea, munching on a bag of chips with a cheeky savaloy :)

Some Fridays the route on the southern road could take us five hours. We used to leave very, very late those days when we couldn't leave very very early. Might have been better to have left last night and let the kids sleep on the journey tbh.

Not that helps now of course

I can hear that the mother hen has gone in and is obviously trying to teach her chicks to climb the ramp ( instead of sitting outside with them) this would be good, as its a PITA trying to get them in in the evening! chicks might be tiny but they can run REALLY fast.

Because we didn't plan any we didn't buy a new tiny broody coop this year. Watching them jump out in the morning is quite hilarious though.

I hope you never deal with her again fc. If you're ever even thinking of it, please let us know so we can forbid you!

    What Nikkster said.
If you were an author and had sent a manuscript to a publishing house .... or a game maker, who sent a letter to Waddingtons ... or ... thousands of things .... and those companies had subsequently "used your ideas", it's a suable item - I've seen them in the papers "XYZ Nicked My Idea..... Compo Wanted"

Why does that not happen in your world? You sent a PDF, she robbed.... case closed.... ?

    What PN said.

M5? On a Friday? In the summer holidays? It'll be a car park, I'm afraid. :(

We used to live in N Somerset, just off the M5. We learnt to expect it to be crawling speed at best throughout daytime for all the summer holiday weekends.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

DW has a meeting on Tuesday, so we will be driving back on Bank Holiday Monday. I suggested leaving at midnight and arriving home at 3AM. This has not been very enthusiastically received. My alternative is that DW goes home by train and I stay on a day or two and clean the house here. Also not enthusiastically received.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Got this for my birthday. Just finished reading it. Very interesting. Recommend it to any NP who are into that sort of thing.

While this makes me giggle its expensive and I doubt the visibility over distance is very good. Its surprisingly hard to choose glow in the dark dog collars.
