This would be a really silly type of bolt to have on a stable door be cause it would catch on stuff so if I type only an idiot would do it I can agree I should not and look for something more practicality.

    Sometimes practicality SHOULD rule. :(

Would be ok for a top bolt at a back door, just not one connecting the two halves I think.

I do need to choose these this week, ish, but I am board now. I have chosen the door knob. Locks are easy...I think....just five lever locks and simple escutcheon ...ah, makes me wonder about my knob choice.

I think I just need to choose bolts now. If I want more bolts or stuff later I can get them. :)

I also need to get a little bit of glass.

As others have said, I don't actually live here, but we spend as much time as we can here over the summer. Liverpool is my home, though am from Harrow by birth. Should you fancy a NP meet up you'd be very welcome to visit the caravan. We're very lucky to be in a fairly quiet camp site (well, maybe not so quiet in August when all the kids are playing out in the field! ;) ), a decent sized field with caravans just ranged around the edge. Some sites round here are much more packed.

We're the far end of Abersoch, in Bwlchtocyn, which I'm sure many round here would give a Posh Alert to, but I don't see a caravan requires one! ;) In a couple of weeks time it will be incredibly quiet round here, as nearly every one goes home for the start of the school year. The cottages and houses will all be empty for most of the time until the spring, other than half term time. No wonder the economy round here struggles - most of the year most of the properties are empty. At least we spread our visits around the year, not just high summer. We came one year for New Year, but not sure we'll repeat that - it was %&%&% cold! ;)

It is really sad that the population of the UK has not yet discovered North Wales. Or perhaps, it's a good thing. For the beauty and solitude you crave is the one thing that means it's economy is shot.

I cannot afford to work in North Wales and so work in Yorkshire, so I work part time and travel home at the end of the working week. Luckily, the neighbours in the hamlet are aware of my strange working patterns and although the house is empty a few days per week, it's not empty for huge swathes of time like a lot of holiday homes are.

Good on you for trying the peninsular in winter! Definitely not something I would wish to do without 12 inch thick walls around me. The wind is fierce as you now, and I lost my roof last winter in the storms.

Despite all the potential negative bits, it really is a beautiful part of the world and I would not wish to live anywhere else.

Yes, perhaps a NP meet would be good. As long as it doesn't include large expanses of water or mountains! At least not without snow!
Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Owed at the end of -
    02/19 - £78,400. 04/19 - £85,000. 05/19 - £83,300. 06/19 - £78,900.
    07/19 - £77,500. 08/19 - £76,000.

Lost your roof. That's must have been really frightening. Poor you!
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Easy guideline is that each curtain measures that and you go for twice the width of material to the window. So roughly speaking if each curtains width is 229 they will fit a window that is 229 wide.

In the same way that you are buying a new sofa so want it to be right, don't skimp on curtain width. Buying the proper size will look so much better.

No, I'm happy for my curtains to "just fit" :)

I don't suppose my catchphrase of 'it's my house so I'll do what I please' (or words along those lines) will help? (I can't take credit for that one though, was taught it by my mother ;))

    Hopefully it was a one-off.

Today I found/bought/replaced the shed door lock. It had a lock, without keys .... so I took it off and went to the shops to try to get another - and found one (in the 3rd shop). And it's already fitted (thanks to the electric screwdriver making things seem simpler so I tackle them sooner.

    :)

Tip: Don't go into Home Bargains - you come out with Heinz Curry Sauce (squeezy/ketchup bottle), a BIG packet of poppadoms (like crisps), wine gums and some cake bars!!

Discovered a new Harveys/Bensons for Beds opening later this week! I went into another bed store (Carpetright?) - cheapest bed they had was £299 for a double divan.... headboard £100 extra!!! The world's gone mad!

I think ultimately I can relax about everything else because that choice was perfect, so I kinda feel everything else will sort its self out in time.

Anyway chose two bolts. Don't adore them, but they are ok and its a doggone utility room, they don't have to be perfect and they are cheap enough to change if we see some we love. :)

Big dog both stumbled and fell over today but seems ok.

Dog dog had a face time chat with fir and is now enjoying come dine with me.

Kiwi has behaved himself all day. Remarkable!
