My DD loves Levis. She has however been OK with a pair of Whitestuff jeans .

I think per una jeans may be a bit too old for you..I wear them!

I don't really care what the label says, I'm fussy about the fit though (and an awkward shape for jeans - well, for many clothes). 'M+S jeans' did make me think of my mum's jeans with an elasticated waistband thought :o. Though I can now see the advantages, I'm not sure I'm ready to give in to that yet.

I've not had a pair of Levis since I was about 15, but I've looked online and they claim to offer a range of 'curve' levels. It's on the list. I've never tried any trousers on in white stuff. They look like they're made for stick insects. Though another (non-stick insect) friend has suggested them too. Perhaps they'll also go on the list.

I hate clothes shopping. Especially when it's for something specific.

They've been around for some years - and are great for people decorating/having work done, who don't want the house to look unoccupied or full of interesting tools/copper pipes.

I'm hoping they are also great for people who don't want nets, but aren't sure what they do want and need something whilst they make their mind up (and probably save up too) :)

I'd not bother for the latter bit. Too complex.
If you're happy the amount is OK, then it's up to them if they buy lots of pies/chips.
Also, it'd then require you to be able to check .... too complex.
Let them buy pies if that's their choice.

I guess as long as there is a trail? E.g. paying by bank transfer rather than cash in hand? Not sure if the concern is about the other party claiming that it wasn't settled/ getting the work done in a few months and saying the £ didn't cover it?

Had some good news yesterday..OHs youngest nephew has proposed to the woman he already lives with. So we invited OHs family over to celebrate today. Only 14 of us in total including two littlies.

We sat outside, as we were having a BBQ..a small shower sprinkled on us..we were just about to move in when it stopped and we had lovely weather. As the weather cooled I offered everyone cardigans so we stayed out until quite late.

DD made and decorated a cake for her cousin ..the F&M indoor sparklers were terribly slow to get going but it did mean the cake cutting was a prolonged and joyful activity. The M&S pink champagne had its own drama, OH had paid for it..we ended up checking teh receipt..but one of the bottles still had a security tag on it. Deactivated but firmly in place. Ut it did look dodgy. How do people who really steal stuff ever use it?

I have a lot of puddings left over. Apple pie, Apple pie with sultana & cloves, Blackberry cheesecake.

Probably ruined a white linen top..blackberry sauce seeped through my pinnie and there is now a purple stain on both. Both are soaked in neat soda crystal fluid but I am not hopeful as it looks pretty fast.

One of the littlies fell asleep and wee'd on a sofa, so that cushion has been stripped and the covers washed. Parents were very apologetic but we were fine about and expect them to be the same as we age and pee on their furniture when we visit.

I only wear M&S jeans, but avoid their standard offerings, which are too near elastic waist territory.

Try their "indigo" range - probably more your age group. Alternatively their "Roma rise perfect sculpt and lift"

I think ensuring it is F&F is far more important that being bothered whether they do it or not - provided they don't have comeback, does it really matter?

The other way is to set up an escrow account, ie you pay a 3rd party who only passes on the money when it has been done.

You probably want either a solicitor or an escrow agreement http://www.investopedia.com/terms/e/escrowagreement.asp

If you're lucky enough for your window to be of a handy width of 30cm, 45cm, 60cm, 75cm ... etc .... then with your new drill skillz it's not improbable that you could have a go at fitting a venetian blind. A plastic, 25mm one is probably only about £10 off the shelf. For sizes outside of that, they promise they're easy to cut with a nifty blind cutter (I'm not convinced...and what about the top/bottom bits?) ... but worth considering. A nice, clean look ... tiltable for peeking or privacy.

Some small ones are only about £7 for aluminium in places like Dunelm.

The girlfriend of DS2 has been here, now gone home. DS2 impressed with our behaviour, "you didn't put your foot in it at all" was his compliment.

She was quieter than I expected, maybe a bit shy in our company. Seems polite and caring. They were out a lot of the time, but we had 2 meals together- one here and one out, all went very well.

    Phew!
