I know she knows she can talk to me, was a bit worried that she wasn't, but your words make sense. I'm not sure what to say really, it's a mess, but I do listen to what she says and I care.

It is nice to do things on the spur of the moment. Could you not go..or are they staying somewhere unsuitable for an infant and nursing mother.

Is your OH pushing his luck in shooting off until Thurs, then planning a camping trip over the weekend or is this instead of that?

Can you tootle off to Kent?

It is - I'd made other plans for the next couple of days, though, and couldn't unpick them all and cancel at the last minute today.

He's not really pushing his luck - this Hadrian's Wall trip is for Isaac's sake, rather than his own, it's Isaac who is fascinated by Romans, not OH.

I can't go to Kent this weekend, because my parents are off on their hols on Saturday, going to Avignon by train direct from Ashford, which is rather cool, 1 train all the way! Most unreasonable of them to go on holiday when otherwise I might have wanted to inflict my presence on them, though.
We were back in the hospital this morning as it happens. Everything seems to be in the right place...so hopefully there will be a positive update soon!

Very best of luck - may all your troubles be little ones.

Speaking of troubles, are the out laws still staying?

I don't think you necessarily have to say anything at all. Just be there for your friend and care. There's nothing more.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

i was stood in the pub beer garden about 3 meters away - exactly over the wall from where that photo was taken, two weeks ago. A massive (but nice) beer garden that used to be a bowling green.

Me too. Only £60?! Blimey that's a decent reduction.
    .

It' "reduced to clear" but it's only the 3G version not the new-fangled 4G one. I'm still a luddite!

But it's still way better than my clunky old Huawei G300 which only delivers a text message if I hand-write it, stick it on with a post-it note and throw the whole thing at the recipient as accurately as I can manage.:(

Sometimes although it may be best not to ask, there is a certain level of knowledge assumed or it helps to have a reality check..relative to what a distressed friend may be telling you.

MacMillan, Cancer Research UK, NHS Choices and the site specific cancer charities are a good way of becoming informed without being intrusive. These usually cover staging, treatments, living with it, metastasis and emotional aspects. Often with case studies from patients. You do not have to read it all..just what you need/want/can face.

I have an aged iphone 4. I can assure you it is dreadful. I have low usage of my phone. I am not sure if it is because I am also a luddite or if it is because this thing is so awful and as Vodafone have no signal where we live I just have no hope.

A NP sent me a text today. I only got when I drove 5 miles to the Vets to pick up the dog's wormer.

Ever cloud has a silver lining...no worms...no text received yet.

Price match has some other/odd/unknown criteria though. You can't, say, walk in, pick up 6 packs of Pepsi and demand a price match. There's more to it.... but I don't know what; I do know that whatever it is I'd struggle to be able to achieve it.

Really? Round here price match just happens. You go in, you buy stuff, and if it would have been cheaper in the other place, the till spits out a voucher for the difference, without you having to ask for it or anything..
Is the house squew-whiff, or the photographer drunk, do you think?

That's weird, several different house types shoehorned into one building.

It's part solid, Edwardian family home, part Art Deco cinema, part 1970s shopping centre, and a few random bits from Greek Revival.

I find myself looking for the hinges at the side where the front of the house swings forwards and you can rearrange the miniature people and furniture inside.

Excellent news. Hoping for the best for you both. :)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
