Do you remember what colour Spirit was wearing? Or LIR? Or me? Or Kermie?

Red/white summer dress, dark grey jersey dress and a jersey 'cardigan', dark grey jersey dress. Kermie ... er ... grey all in one? No hat.

That's all the police would get out of me.

I tried making dolce de lecche in the Thermomix today. Disaster, utter disaster. It was terrible. I had a litre of boiling milk sprayed across my kitchen.

Oh no! Hope no one was in the kitchen at the time?

I'm sorry to have upset you about it.

Good gracious, no! Not upset at all. I just couldn't imagine feeling like a winner in those circumstances. Of course, it's a joke, but I was looking past the black humour to the reality.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I've just brushed the house down ... on the outside. Got rid of the spiders webs and the dried oak leaves entangled in them, moved the exterior door mat and brushed away the dried oak leaves.

Those leaves get everywhere - and there's a strange (and almost persistent) draught round the side of the house that whips them up into a swirling mass right in front of the patio doors, then dumps them one by one into the living room.

I wonder whether you can move that annoying eddy a bit by putting a large plant pot or something like it near the corner of the house? It might be worth a try, if you have something suitable to put there.

Yes,it's on the list. thing is to get something suitably high/long that'd make sufficient difference. Too short and it'll still end up in the same place.

Then, there's the question of securing it, on a windy corner (as I typed this a leaf just landed on my keyboard 8' inside the room!).

It can't be done with a bit of 2'x6' plywood, that's for sure.

Chic red and white summer dress with coordinated a shade darker nails and lovely swishy hair. Black sack dress with beading at neckline and lurex:D cardi in 'Greige'. ( ok, that one's easy for me, I'll spare you details about what else matched, but my shoes coordinated despite the very laid back nature of my slobby outfit. I very rarely wear black shoes) . Petrol blue jersey with lovely swishy hanker chief hem and nice jewelry in own taste ( and presumably self made! ) as could have been expected! Which matched too ( dark, rainbowy) and one on finger. Kermie. Grey and white stripes outfits ( but NDG and I did discuss them) by same maker, before and after explosion. Before, leg less, after with legs! Accessorised with balloon to match personality.

Could do more but....seems a bit obsessive. ( my memory is of course worse now, but I used to be exceptionally good at that sort of thing. Early training!, now I am not very good at memory and my words, faces etc are poor, but I think those early years games help.)

Nope. Nobody hurt (except I almost dropped my meat cleaver on my stockinged foot during the cleaning up which would have done a bit of damage!). It made a hell of a mess though.

That's good really, nothing worse than stagnant air, you'll be less likely to get dank or close corners outside.

So we looked at the house.
    http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-47341544.html?premiumA=true

DG (or anyone else) think we could knock down the garage to the N and use it as access for a second detached property to the S and W of the existing with the plot split N/S into two?
    I think....

From what I've observed, I think the previous people never cleared the leaves. I don't wish to clear the leaves, but I have spotted I will have to.

The leaves clog up the drains.... and they settle round the foundations of the house.... and get damp ..... and there are wood lice. So I need to get the right kit in place to continually clear up the leaves. At the moment I've put a few into a trug ... but the trug really needs a lid else I'll put lots in it, then a big windy bit will whip them out again.

I'll also pick up some fine wire to shield the drain tops, making it harder for full leaves to fall in. The drain cover currently has 1/2" square holes in a grid .... which small/dry leaves just lay on/fall into.

So it's all on the list :)

I think I have finally found the proper use for a garden vacuum though .... one of those would be ideal to whizz round every 1-2 days and scoop up the tiny dry bits.... they are tricky to do by hand, can't be swept either.
