I went and thought about mine ... then wondered if it's dropped into the aperture when the tap's off its fixings..... so I didn't attempt to prise it out.

I thought the reason they did it might be eco-related... with a spray giving you a wider water area, so you use less water for most things.

Edit: Just had a go with a screwdriver, it didn't work.... so I've taken some photos so I can see in close up what it looks like.

Edit 2: Photos are too close/dark/indistinct.... I'll have another go.

Edit 3: No, no good. I'd reversed the camera, but then you don't get a flash; I need to use the camera in the usual way that enables the flash to work.... trouble with that is it's hit/miss what you're photographing as you can't see. I'll leave it for now.

You are probably right about the eco reason for the spray. The trouble is that it doesn't suit you, as you are used to a different sort of water flow that doesn't splash as much. Also, what starts as a reasonable spray becomes harder as the water holes scale up with limestone.

Maybe just add it to the list for your handyman?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Poundland - only £1, I saw them there only last week.

You can clean out the scratches with the right products. You can aslo protect your laminate with products like "mop & shine" or "Manual Forbo floor care". Known as the soap film method. You are basically covering with a thin layer of cleaner that you don't wash off. Think of it like leave in conditioner.

It's not slippery is it? I have a veneer floor here (they're crap, don't bother)and it's really dulled. If I polish the floor, it would look nice but I'd go flying. Would one of those do what I want?

So I am your target market :)

    I like the name simpatico.

Its all word of mouth. All these facebook groups where someone says, "anyone know a kitchen fitter?" or seeing someone else's kitchen and going from there. Its you that you need to market, the name isn't that important. As your friends say JFDI.

Well, it's certainly a relief to know my target market exists!

    Thanks :)

Poggenpohl is a daft name, yet they've done quite well. Maybe names are less important than we think?

Who makes the decision on these large purchases, men or women? I ask because I think men may go for something more specific, eg kitchen guru or kitchen perfectionist. Women may indeed like the sound of someone who listens and is sympathetic.

The name is never going to be as important to anyone as it is to the person that owns it. People make fortunes coming up with company names and logos - creating 'brands' for people. According to this blog, every letter and sylable seems to count. Colours are also important in brands to convey messages. Maybe it's all entirely made up! I do think that typefaces are important - some look terribly unprofessional, but I'm the sort of person that gets upset when you get a rogue employee who writes in something other than the company font.

My initial thoughts for names were definitely in the vein that you're suggesting - perfection was a word, couturier - but no one is going to spell that and it sounds poncy.

Think I'm probably in the target market too :)

I see what you're trying to get at; clever play on dual meaning of words.

One thing that does occur to me, though, is that it doesn't describe the type of business - I wouldn't see that name and realise what sort of business it does. I don't know whether that's an important factor or not, never having had to think about marketing issues before.

I think once you get over the initial "who? never heard of them...." moments in early marketing, there's a certain "better than you" mentality that comes into play when people smugly tell others about you as they're PLEASED/proud they can say your name etc.... and let it trip off their tongue over scones and tea at The Ritz :)

Men will be asked what they think .... women will decide. Even if a bloke spends most of his time doing the cooking etc, I bet he'd still not be "allowed" to decide unless he were a professional chef ... and even then, have you ever wondered why chef kitchens are so huge....? it's so they both got their own way :)

So many times I've gone to company websites and wanted to scream "... yes, but what do you DO???"
    :)

There is a big Porcelanosa showroom near here. We never knew what they did until they replaced their front wall with some windows. (They do bathrooms BTW).

Should have read my post from last Sunday warning that they're no longer any good ...... there's nothing worth having at all. They used to be good, not now.

Next time I will listen.... It would have been good if we were trying to buy clothes for a baby or as I said stolen power tools. It was more interesting looking at the other people who were there...

This afternoon we went to an antiques/reclaimed stuff fair near Guildford. That was more up my street. I reckon there were a couple of stalls which just bought up cheap stuff from B&Q, left it outside in the rain for a couple of years, then take it along to this place and try to sell it with a 0 on the end of the price - I'm always impressed by stuff like that.

We did buy a mirror for a tenner though which I quite liked, and a plant pot.

I just said to OH, "did you know you could have replaced your ACA with FCA years ago?" He didn't know and thought you had to do a further exam, he certainly didn't receive a letter. He qualified in 1988, so they've had his money for years.

I didn't do anything - they sent me an email saying that I could refuse it if I wanted to. I presumed there would be more money to pay but it seems not. Usually when something costs nothing it is worth nothing...
