If I wasn't such an idiot .... I remain in the dog house.
Oh dear .... did you just 'forget' to get it out, or is there a bigger story?
Not having lamb, that can be had another day, on a non-specific day (e.g. not a celebration/Xmas/whatever) shouldn't be enough to be in the dog house ... simply a mild irritation and excuse to do something different.0 -
Anchovies are one of the greats. They give Worcestershire sauce its flavour.
They are particularly good with roast lamb. If I wasn't such an idiot we'd be having shoulder of lamb with garlic, rosemary and anchovies for dinner tonight. Instead the shoulder of lamb remains in the freezer and I remain in the dog house.
Starving, again. Why do you do this to me!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Do a quick Google for: All you can eat breakfast Sundays
Although, being Sunday, there might not be any.

Just checked my nearest and it says "Breakfast at Toby in xxxx is served 8am-11am Monday to Saturday and 8am-10.30am on Sunday."0 -

But I guess the next answer is to remove that in order to use a proper plug .... and maybe an insert into the hole that just drops in (not fitted)?
I don't know much/anything about sinks really - I've only ever just used them, not thought about them, inspected them, or deconstructed them
Although if there is an insert, then I guess a plug wouldn't fit any more.
They are a cr4p system..... they really are. You turn the tap on and it hits the silver "plug" and just sprays everywhere, every time. Daft it is.... and when you brush your teeth, you're spitting toothpaste onto the plug thing too.... and then, as the tap doesn't swivel, you're having to rinse it all round with your hand - or get a beaker just for rinsing out the sink.... bizarre/odd/annoying.
I agree that the scary black abyss is a problem. The real problem with this basin is not the concept of the mixer tap. Mixer taps are GOOD, and I won't hear otherwise. In any case, you can't replace it with two single taps without replacing the basin, and probably the tiling, and then the paintwork.
What you can do fairly easily is replace that mixer tap with a better one. Better probably means longer, so the water hits the middle of the basin not the plug hole. Also, a better quality tap may be more controllable. I'm not sure you can get a basin mixer that swivels, though. Doozer would know.
Correction: Yes, you can. For example, http://www.bestbathrooms.com/Mono-Basin-Mixer-Tap-Swivel-Spout-without-Waste/pr58274.html?gclid=CP6psq_45L8CFY_MtAodwyYAnwNo reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

We had chook last night which Mrs Generali dislikes but The Girl loves because The Girl was ill so I wanted to make it for her as a treat. I did it on the proviso that we had lamb shoulder for dinner tonight.
I'm not really in the dog house, I just thought it made a really good sentence.
I'm testing Mrs Generali's new Thermomix by making bread in it. I strongly suspect that it's crap at bread making, really bad.0 -

Because I can:rotfl:
We had tarte tatin with home made puff pastry last night. Proper puff pastry really is one of the greatest things.0 -

There's an idea! I have vouchers for kids to eat breakfast free as well. :-)Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

What I'd have like to see at Toby's was also scrambled eggs and tinned tomatoes (they also have no mushrooms, but I don't like mushrooms) ... and I wish the "hash browns", which they call something else, were thicker/more moist. But you do get to go back as many times as you want, so no need to overload an initial plate.
It was very civilised in my local Toby, being in an affluent area with a higher age demographic. Civilised is good.....
I bought the drinks too ... I think I had 3 coffees, might have had 4.
I had four pieces of toast .... should've tried harder really.0 -
PasturesNew wrote: »I do like my new kitchen sink/mixer tap. The mixer tap/levers are smooth-operating and a joy. The water flow rate is good. The main sink is much deeper than I've been used to - and the 1/2 sink is great for rinsing out things. It's great.
It's just the downstairs loo sink and bathroom sink that are a nuisance.
I grew up in the 60s, the era of "lucky to have an inside loo" ... I can cope, but it just annoys me that people who "design" these things for a living can be so cr4p at something as simple as a tap/sink
It's the developers not thinking things through. Having just redone three bathrooms in a 10 year old house (our first foray into the world of new build), the waste of space and poor design is astonishing. If I'd have known before we started, I'd have moved the cardboad walls that came off with the tiles.
No plumber ran the tap and told whoever designs these things that the tap/plug placement causes the user a dousing. Specifier probably couldn't care less anyway - it would have been dirt cheap in bulk.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

(although I'd leave out the anchovies .... never had one, so wouldn't start putting it into what sounds like a nice meal without it).
Anchovies taste salty and 'umami'.0
