I promise you, when you eventually come here you'll have no idea i cleaned at all. Today I BLEACHED the walls of the garden room, ( where the ceiling came down. Nothing I would normally use ( home made vinegar mix, washing up liquid than flash) was really doing the job fast enough for my liking . But couldn't do the skirting boards, too tired, and the socket ( just the one) and switches are grim, grim. Combined with concrete floor the environment is of dereliction, not ' owner of this house bleached the walls today' :D

Tonight big dog will lean against the walls and by Friday there will be a huge grease mark, though she's being stripped on Thursday.

Not really appropriate for e.g. mopping, and would need to test on the surface, but if all else fails I like a bit of nail polish remover.

After my whinges about being stood up (again)...

Whatever the real story regarding MH17 is, it's inexcusible the way the crash site has been dealt with. The pictures on the news are just awful.

    Grrr.

I hate it when I do decide to follow a recipe when my instinct says no, and it turns out I was right.

There is forty minutes of my life wasted. And something to redo. Grrr.

That's pretty much why I don't stray into new territory. Such a waste of time/ingredients.... only to become hungrier and angry.

Also let down by a workman. I wouldn't mind, but he chose today. At 9.30 I texted him to ask what time he was arriving. Cue apologetic phonecall that he forgot. :(

Mine both chose the days. I mentioned after office hours was best, but I could possibly do earlier depending on work. Both suggested evenings. And both know the scale of the jobs, and were given able opportunity to say they weren't interested.

Friday man was apologetic, he remembered when he got home then couldn't find my number (in his received calls...?). Him I've met. Last year, he came and gave me a ballpark figure for some jobs highlighted in the survey before contacts were exchanged. Not sure whether he remembered me or not, but he remembered the jobs!

Civitavecchia is a town and comune of the province of Rome in the central Italian region of Lazio. A sea port on the Tyrrhenian Sea, it is located 80 kilometres west-north-west of Rome, across the Mignone river. Wikipedia

Everybody knows that. Including me, now.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

None of the workmen that have come into my house have ever hit on me.

    :(

A really hot one hit on me. Then I realised that it was Mrs Generali doing some DIY.

Keys - took me a while for my keys (car + house) to find 'their place' when, but they live in my coat pocket. As does my work pass. Which is perfect 9 months of the year when you need a coat, but not so great the rest of the time. So I've been taking my coat to work and leaving it in the car boot.

I spent too much time over the entire 13 years we lived in our old flat looking for my keys. So as soon as we exchanged on this flat, I bought a second-hand pipe cupboard, sandpapered it, oiled it, and got OH to hang it on the wall when we moved in. All our keys (house, chambers x 2, bike locks etc, parents' house and flat, car keys) are in there.

I'm sure there are websites where you can advertise for the required.....?

If you had a private plane, surely you'd also get your driver to take you to and from the airport?

I guess it will help people who work there, but most likely it was just on the piece of paper given to the reporter by the train company. Sounded really odd though!

I'm sure I've mentioned previously that OH bought a plane in 2005, which is older than we are, very safely maintained, etc. He travels to the airfield by bike-train-bike, though.

We had to turn the news off, because I thought Isaac was getting distressed by it. We turned it back on for the Israel - Gaza part, and then Isaac got all upset again when he realised that the air-raid report was from Sderot, where one lot of his cousins live. :(:(

Looking on the bright side, though - it means your cooking instincts really good!
