Claiming NSD 7 today. Not sure i'll make my target of 15 as running out of days! So my new, revised target is 10 NSD. Should be achievableStarting 2016 debt-free

Hi all xxxx :hello::hello:
Well done to everyone getting those NSDs in :T
t2rry- I can so relate to stress spending and obligation spending and it is hard to say no but it does seem to get easier after the first time; if you really can't decide try popping names into a hat to pick one to miss?
I have spent today, due to my disorganisation I found I had run out of steradent before payday..........and as I have the dentist tomorrow (already paid for when I went in for my six monthly thingy) I thought I had better get some. As I was spending anyway I bought my ticket to get to London on Monday.
Can't see me spending tomorrow as I will be finishing my shift in the morning then have the dentists at 11 then have to stay awake for a team meeting, it's the last of my four days on so don't have work tomorrow night but can me hitting bed as soon as I get in after the meeting and not emerging from it until well into Friday :rotfl:
Right, must dash as I can hear a resident getting up and want to finish this second bit of the NVQ I'm trying to do
See you all soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxx :hello:

Good morning fellow non-spendy folk!
I've also just had three very busy,and spendy,days,but in principle won't need to spend now until Monday.
Yesterday I bought my train tickets to go and see my sister.Usually I buy a ticket where you can change the date or time of travel as needed,except that it costs almost twice as much.This month is tight already,considering that I don't have any money put aside for travel,and had such a hefty cc bill to pay off.So I bought the cheaper tickets that are not changeable,which is a major stress for me,as I always worry about being late and missing my connection (three train journeys and a ferry crossing).I can't allow myself this extra 'luxury',so will just have to make do.
I've had the odd ten minutes free,but too bitty to update.Knit_Witch wrote: »Hmm can't do pink, do you think Hubert will be okay with Imperial Purple? :beer:
Once that is out of the way I will start on Igor's long johns :rotfl:
Sounds good!:DHi there all NSDers:hello:
Marmite- Thank you for all the updating and the pictures, you do have a beautiful cat. I understand the re evaluation thingy, I seem to be coping okay so far with the change I,'ve had but I have managed to get in some overtime each month so far so we will see.
Thanks,you're welcome!0 -

t2rry - if you can't afford to go to everything, don't. Personally I would either just say you can't make it, or be honest and say you're really sorry but have a very busy month and can't afford everything. Too many of us end up with 'obligation debt' where we try and please everyone else, overspend because we can't afford to go to / do everything, and then don't enjoy it anyway because or the worry / guilt about the debt accrued - or if not debt, the fact the rest of the month / week etc is going to be a struggle.
That's good advice.0 -
Wishing you all a great day.
It's only 9 o'clock here,and I'm already bathed in sweat.:(0 -
Thanks peeps
Kerri you are absolutely right of course and if it were entirely up to me it wouldn't be such a difficulty but a lot of these events are OH's friends.
However we've talked it through and;
1. Confirmed no to the graduation party (that is for the same 'family' as the 30th birthday so will see them a couple of weeks later anyway)
2. We've snagged a lift to the housewarming (the biggest cost would be to get there) & we are assured it is staying in the house for bbq. Theoretically we just need to spend on a bottle of wine.
3. The 30th birthday is right at the end of the month so I have pushed the cost into the following months budget as we will have been paid by then. We've also agreed if we get to it & can't afford it we won't go.
4. The christening, Butti, is actually the only one I'm not worried about as it's local & the party is at their house so probably just cost of a token gift, otherwise I like your point!
5. The retirement is my mum's so we have to go...it will only be something like a meal out for immediate family but I will talk to her this weekend about plans & point out we will be on a budget so hopefully it can be tailored!
Feeling a little better about it this morn but still some work to do...ebay here I come!!

Not likely to be a spend free day today as I've told my dad I'll cook tonight and I don't think there's much in. Not suitable for such hot weather anyway! It's the first day of the holidays and I've started as I mean to go on. I've got up early (despite my 2.5 extra hours in bed compared to a school day) and I've already been to the bank and building society to pay in bags of coins I've had lying around for ages. So I feel like I've gained money even though I've had it all along!NSDs January - 3/8 2017 total - 3
