What was unknown, Fort Dunlop? One of the most iconic buildings in the West Midlands, seen by millions as they use the M6? Or that they use a company called Parkshield, issue tickets and 'do court'? Still none the wiser I'm afraid.
but your issues with this topic (and one or two others who replied) have caused this thread to be hijacked and off topic, what you or I do or dont know is irrelevant to the actual topic posted in post #1
one point about netiquette is , stick to the topic
I have read this site for a long time and never heard of this site, nor has it featured as a problem site like fistral beach of the one in haworth or the excel operated council one in wakefield (or wherever it was) but I havent made a song and dance about it like some respondents, nor have I questioned the motives of 4cr or kifl either
there will be sites like some near me not known about to you , thats a fact of geography and local knowledge
if you put dunlop or fort dunlop into the forum search box you get very few hits, put PEEL into the box (or stockport) and you get masses of hits due to the infamous nature of the car park there (Peel Centre), same goes for JLA or LUTON as in airports)
my point was that its now more known about because the topic was raised in post 1 which has raised the profile of this site due to multiple court claims but you seem to want to raise issues of your own instead of accepting the topic for what HO87 stated, as a "heads up"
frankly, I dont care about this site or about parkshield , but if there are multiple court claims and ccj,s being issued for one site that you say is famous then we should be made aware of it on a national forum and if help is there for free then the people helping should be applauded, not vilified
seems to me most people appreciate this heads up, whereas some people would like war and peace and it explaining as if to 2 year olds0 -
I'm sure you're happy for a few CCJs to be obtained ..... just as long as it isn't you.
Yes Mr. B , in this case, the end does indeed justify the means, specially when the CCJ is self inflicted, as most are, by ignoring paperwork.
Clampers wrecked havoc, but only because people parked inappropriately, and regulation of the industry was lax. I foresee in a few years, PPCs will be unable to pray on the sheeple as they do now.
As for it happening to me, it would be most unlikely, but if it did I would engage a solicitor to sort it out, I would certainly not go to an internet forum for help. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
How can it be off topic to talk about the subject of the thread, the thread title is Fort Dunlop Birmingham - Legal Cases, and some of are simply asking what is going on there, but iteems those in the know won't say.
It's like saying, "BTW there is a minefield over there, we have a map, but we also have a good doctor who will treat the messy end when you have your foot blown off, so on the way you don't need to see the map".
I'm more and more coming to the conclusion this is a touting for business thread.
Finally, a little bit of local knowledge, as has been stated earlier, Capita have a presence at the site in question. They operate a call centre there in partnership with Birmingham City Council, with a number of council staff of all grades seconded to Capita.
As some forum members will no doubt know Birmingham City Council, particularly it's Trading Standards Department, were at the forefront of the battle to ban private clamping in England & Wales.
If a PPC like Parkshield starts to play fast and loose at that site and ensnares a few council officers then I'm sure the full weight of the council will be brought to bear.0 -

But the is itself was that the problems there were unknown on here. Now we know so job sorted, they can be dealt with.0 -

for the same reason that beavis , moloney , prankster and bargepole didnt talk about the rescheduled case in cambridge and I clearly stated earlier (subjudece and client confidentiality)
its also why cameron should not have commented in public whilst a court case is going on
as I and others have said, its a heads up post seeing as it wasnt obvious on the forum , same as has happened on other sites like haworth
I just think some of you are making more of it than it actually is, especially when you are attacking the motives of those who posted it which has then caused myself and others to reply
ie:- I read it, thought , oh right, didnt know about that site and that a ppc were taking multiple people to court over it , thanks for the info and I used the thanks button only
I would treat pranksters blogs the same way , "didnt know that so thanks"
a shame this topical thread has gone this way and to me its a hijack or people expect too much info to be given out , sometimes people have to accept that whilst you can say there is a case or cases going on , you cannot talk about them in public in much detailMany do know what and where Fort Dunlop is...but equally, many don't. There is a world beyond Birmingham you know.
But the is itself was that the problems there were unknown on here. Now we know so job sorted, they can be dealt with.
exactly ! thank you0 -

I struggle to believe anyone would support someone getting a CCJ for the sake of over parking in a FREE car park. It is entirely out of proportion with the alleged debt. To stop someone being able to rent or buy a property for this is nothing short of corrupt and criminal. Anyway, these aren't real debts - they are made up, fake, a con. These PPC companies are no better than conmen.
As for people being stupid for ignoring court papers - many people don't really believe they are, they believe them to be a con.
I refused to pay a national plumbing company once so they sent me fake court papers ( all filled in and made to look real ). Many people wouldn't be able to identify the difference so as some people would see fake papers as real others will see real papers as fake.
As for employing a solicitor, then you're not dissimilar to the people you've called stupid."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -

Given that he couldn't claim the solicitor's fees even if he won then it would cost him more than simply paying the stupid fake fine. That's what is often described as "cutting off your nose to spite your face".
That's if he could even find a solicitor interested in taking on the case. And even if he could, chances are that the solicitor's understanding of the legal issues would be poorer than his own and that of many other regular posters here.Je suis Charlie.0 -

It appears there are, particularly those who have that warm and fuzzy feeling of being in the know about this site and the activities of Parkshield/Gladstones and the IPC, but can't or won't share it.0 -

I take it you yourself are the one providing all the help and assistance on this board then?
Thought not!!0 -

This is not about a parking charge, this is about not keeping yourself informed about legislation which affects you, Ignoring letters, not seeking proper advice, not keeping vehicle licencing informed of changes of vehicles, addresses etc.
These PPC companies are no better than conmen.

Then they are stupid

What an odd thing to say, how so?You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
