Help - Letter from the police!

Primrose, I thought the same so looked it up (the car park is owned by the council). Can't remember the exact wording, but basically if the public can have access then you can be prosecuted.0

Can i add..If invited to the police station just to iron a few things or a friendly chat...
Never ever go without a solicitor..You may be ambushed by a policeman who knows all the tricks in the book..
It is in your best interest to seek legal advice if asked to attend..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

Oh please! You're either guilty or your not. I get the impression that if OP is given evidence that she did cause an accident without realising it, she will want to take responsibility for it anyway.0 -
Hope the OP comes back to tell us what happenedSpelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...
Pet Peeves.... queues, vain people and hypocrites ..not necessarily in that order.0 -
For a summary offence (which this will be) you have to be served with a Notice of Intended Prosecution within 14 days. The only time this period can be extended is if your details are not accurate/up to date; for instance, if the log book was registered to a different address to your own, so further enquiries needed to be made, resulting in going over the 14 days0

Not quite true.
Firstly it's only certain offences and not all summary offences.
Also, there is no requirement for a NIP if, at the time of the offence or immediately after it, an accident occurs owing to the presence on a road of the vehicle in respect of which the offence was committed (s.2 RTOA).0 -

Always, without fail, make sure a solicitor is present even for a "friendly" chat at the station. Never agree to being interviewed at home.
If you are requested to attend the Police station for said chat you may be able to arrange a solicitor free of charge (legal aid).Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -

Great advice, waste tax payers money to be defended for something you haven't even been accused of doing yet, let alone be convicted of?
Are you one of those legal advisers (or whatever they are called) who make a living out of those people demanding representation on legal aid?0 -

There is nothing to be gained from going to a Police interview alone, for most people it's a stressful experience & this can lead to inadvertent comments which will be picked up & possibly be used against you.
Nothing to do with tax payers money or being defended, just having someone impartial to give advice. Are you one of those legal advisers (or whatever they are called) who make a living out of those people demanding representation on legal aid?
Nope, personal experience only.
ETA: Talking about inadvertent comments this is exactly what I meanObviously I'm not perfect so technically, yes, I could have done something that caused someone else damage, but without more info I'm a bit stuck!
That won't look good in a Police interview!Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -

I find it quite bizarre that someone hasn't called round to 'ask' questions, rather than sending a letter. What a shock that must have been:eek:0
