    hunny - they are behaving how she brought them up? she did 'everything' for them. and they don't know any different? you cannot expect a change in behaviour if you don't bring them up to look after themselves. its a bit late now to expect them to be housebroken, too late probably - but she could find herself a flat and leave them to it?

    OP perhaps you should say something to your friend about his lazy behaviour and how he is adding an extra unnecessary burden to the heavy work load his mother is doing.

    Point out that a loving caring son would not treat his mother in such a disrespectful way.

    If you can make him see how wrong his behaviour is and get him to change it, that will at least go some small way towards helping the mother. If you can persuade your friend to be more helpful around his home, perhaps he can then get on his brother's case and get him to help out too.
