In many cases, the original amount borrowed has disappeared into the mists of time. The amount that is being pursued includes so much extra in terms of interest and fees that it's difficult to justify on the basis of paying back what you have borrowed.

Maybe I am old fashioned in believing that borrowing money and not paying it back is wrong.

But you're obviously not old fashioned enough to believe in showing some compassion towards people who, often through no fault of their own, find themselves in desperate financial situations.

These are the type of people that are specifically targeted by companies such as Wonga and the excessive interest rates mean eventually the borrower is bled completely dry.

You think it's OK (in the vast majority of cases), to take a Doberman and a baseball bat, to people who don't pay their debts?

    Are you serious?

I was wondering whether it was a fake doberman and a fake baseball bat, in the context of the post.

    Maybe these:-
