  • Seem to remember The FCA (or whatever it was called a few years ago) were equally as toothless as the BPA, things soon changed, mainy as a result of public backlash.

PPC's are not just guilty of issuing false solicitors letters, don't forget the false court case papers which have been used as leverage.

The fact is that they used fraudulent techniques to cause alarm and distress into getting people to pay up. It's no different to the criminal using fake ID to getting into a property to commit theft. The latter would already had been to Court.

In a Capatilist Country, money talks and those who can buy do tend to buy justice.
Search my post " PoPLA evidence - What to submit" on what is a good defense for a PoPLA appeal.

You look, see that Wonga were forced to repay fraudulently obtained money and decide to go with them? Not me thanks.

You do need to take into account that a majority of people that turn to these type of lending services are fairly desperate so I doubt many will carry out a balanced research before applying.

I believe they only sent the letters to people who had taken their money and then were not repaying as they agreed to.
Can't see what all the fuss is about.

The "fuss" is about illegal impersonation of authority. The key term there being "illegal". ;)

Whilst I don't doubt the commercial reasons behind WHY they did it, and WHO they did it to, it was the HOW they did it that was wrong.

Because there are rules and laws they have to abide by ..... and didn't.
