I think most good cooks go off instinct
I usually stick to recipes the first time and then do my own thing as I know where it went wrong the first time
I've done 5 batches of strawb jam which I've mastered nowso will probably go with 1:1 as I know the kids will eat it sweet.
Thanx for your help hun :T

The only thing thrown in the bin in our house (so far) has been almost a full bag of lettuce - when will I learn not to expect it to last more than a day!
I'm doing masses of cauliflour and broccoli cheese tonight for the freezer - dh loves it and will happily eat it every day for a week
This morning I had a pot of cherries, raspberries, blueberries and nectarine with yogurt for breakfast - thanks Morries :beer:Final cigarette smoked 02/01/18

Morning ALL!:D
I'm the same re waste...would rather leave stuff on the shelf and let some one else make use of it...than buy something for pennies that will not get used!
after hearing all the stories of fruit mountains...I did wonder how long it would be before hearing the stories of rotting fruit...
I wonder how much of the free fruit bought last week ends up in this weeks bin collection:(
anyone wanna post a picture?
I bought some sacks of potatoes n other stuff for our pigs. Veg and fruit never gets wasted with pigs to feed. Maybe useful for anybody who ends up with leftovers0 -

Edit: I am suggesting giving leftovers to a local farmer, lol... Not to go and buy a pig. However, pigs are fantastic creatures and if you have room and don't mind destruction, they are fantastic outdoor pets x0 -

Deep sigh, in the midst of writing the lists I am checking prices on mys and it stops working, said its being updated. ditto for the general mysupermarket website.
So now I am debating wether to just go ahead with the list I have which is just about ready - 7 items so easy to bulk up with fillers. Its change over day again or prep day ...
Or just not bother, get changed, just dig around in the garden until it starts raining yet again, come in, do some comps, go out when it stops etc ...“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0
