or is she to short to measure hers lol
I don't think you have!2 of mine have flowered now so they won't get any bigger. I need to take a pic, but it's tipping it down outside.
The tallest is taller than my greenhouse which I'm sure is 8ft high.
.....and yes, I'm way to short to measure it without step ladders, and I'm not allowed up them when I'm home alone, due to an unfortunate incident with a lightbulb years ago which ended me up in the cardiac unit! :eek:0 -
No problem DeeDee. You have saved me a fortune over the last few months. I didn't check instore before hand but thought I would just test in anyway.
Can't remember my logic of why I bought 4 Rocky's. There was some reason but I can't remember. :rotfl:0 -

I knew someone would suggest a filler item in a glass jar that was cheap
Now there's another recipe I need to find.

If you don't mind second-hand and you want a freebie, I've noticed jars are quite often posted on my local freecycle, you could post a request?
I can't wait to see everyone's hard work this weekend! Hopefully it's not too warm as we'll all be sweating over our hot stoves
Quick jam-related question for rhosynbach when she's next around: how long do you boil your jam for, and does it change for each fruit? Because I remember boiling for AGES when making plum jam last year, but your recipe suggests a few minutes should be enough?
Now, it is possible that I overdid it slightly (:o) but it definitely wouldn't have been set if I'd done it for 10 minutes or less. Maybe I need to add less water? I was only following Delia's instructions, so I take no responsibility for the edible-ness of what I made :rotfl:
it does vary with each fruit plums, peaches i only add a cup water and a squeeze of lemon i usually cook for 15 mins until soft then add sugar and boil for 10 to 15 mins then check set sometimes it may need a few more minutes boiling.
soft fruits I dont cook first and boil for roughly 6 mins then test then if needed boil for another 2 mins..
blackcurrants i cook in water for 35 mins then add sugar and boil for 10 mins then test0 -
