Thanks Sweetcheeks I will have a look!

We are a little quiet on here, I hope everyone is OK!!?
Body brushed this morning, but I think my old brushes bristles are a little tough so going to keep my eyes peeled for a new one with nice soft bristles :) Moisturised after and then just the usual cleanse/tone/moisturizer and eye cream. No make-up on today but hair tied up in a pony tail and fringe clipped back.

Have a good day and happy Black Friday shopping if you are doing any :)

  • Good morning ladies

Fab Friday today - so glad rags on and best well shod foot forward.;)

Well what can I say. Carpets down, furniture assembled and in place, lampshades on, table lamps, cushions and throws all in place. I am utterly exhausted but it looks good. DS in the process of setting up his new flash fish tank. Need to sort out some art but that can wait until after Christmas once the decorations come down.

The upstairs gets carpets next week, wardrobes will be delivered so it will be all action stations again this weekend, getting everywhere cleared and ready for the fitters. Soooo today I'm having a day off.

Going to the cinema later and then out for dinner. One of my friends has gone to Canada to see her son who cannot make it home for Christmas and her husband cannot fly due to a recent surgery. So he and I are going to paint the town tonight.

I am somewhat trouser challenged too at the moment but I definitely won't be tackling the shops today on Black Friday. I do need to do some Christmas gift shopping. I need to get my a&& in gear but just can't seem to summon any enthusiasm at the moment. I have to confess I often leave it till the last minute anyway....More fun that way :rotfl::rotfl:

Right I'm off to ease my aching muscles in a nice long soak and then a bit of much needed fabbing.

Dark and miserable day here today.never mind it's nearly the Solstice, after that the days start to lengthen again. Before we know it Spring will be just around the corner.

Once Christmas is over I have a number of winter projects to keep me occupied till the weather improves. I have a lot of "treasures" to sort out, photos, memorabilia, clothes, all my crafting stuff etc I need to sort out all OHs business paperwork and tax records etc - so plenty to keep me off the streets and out of trouble.

    Have a great day.

    Keeeeep fabbing.

Hi everyone, dark and dreary here today, but fine. Been into town for my usual Friday foray to the market, it was busy, the town is gearing up for it's Medieval Fayre/food festival this weekend, and the Christmas Lights get switched on too. OH and I will quietly veg around home, for me these type of events are enjoyable once in a while, but not regularly.

I have good good at the fabbing all week, but somehow managed to poke myself in the eye with the mascara wand the other day:(:o it is still sore, so having to skip the eye makeup and wear brighter lipstick, that is until today when I woke with a humongous cold sore on my top lip. I am really run down atm, but have looked out the Lysine tablets and also been treating it with sessions of my Biostick light treatment. I get my B12 jab next week and having some bloods done too, so hopefully that might put me on the right path:D

LL - great to hear that everything is coming together in the house.
Sweetcheeks - fingers crossed on the sale of the flat
waves and hugs to everyone else.

Earlier in the week I prodded myself into action and took the remainder of the summer weight clothes out of wardrobe and replaced with winter weight ones, in colour blocks and with the appropriate cardi/jacket. Still have to tackle the tops and t shirt drawers though:(

LL - Lovely that the house is all coming together. Enjoy your evening :)
Maddiemay - Ouch I hate it when you poke your eye with the mascara wand :( I do hope you feel better soon and a little bit of sorting is much better than none, small steps :D

Great that the house is coming together LL. That light at the end of the tunnel is shining brighter and brighter. Enjoy your night out.:)

I've joined in Fab Friday with a bang!!

Got my hair cut at last and very pleased with it. It's a little shorter than it's been for a while so a bob just on jaw length. No colour today, didn't need it and I have a highlighter spray that can see me through if needed until my next appointment.

Had my nails done, again shorter than usual and quite square and a really dark plum shade.

I had a wander round Matalan but didn't see anything that encouraged me to part with any money. Maybe I'm being fussy but there's so much tat about. I went in the hope of a sparkly top I can wear out to dinner/Christmas do next Friday but decided I've got much nicer camisoles in my wardrobe. I also have a lovely oyster satin top but it's from my 'fat' days so if I want to wear that I'll have to take it in a bit and not sure I have the time. I tried on some jeans but they looked what they were: cheap and nasty. I seem only to wear jeans as far as trousers are concerned but I do have one slinky/silky pair of black trousers I'll probably wear next week.

We're off to France on Tuesday just for three days. We're going to Epernay to buy champagne, take in a Christmas market (for atmosphere) and look at the new memorial near Arras to all the fallen in France in WW1 (on all sides of the conflict) and we'll lay a wreath for DH's great uncle where he's buried which we always do when we're in the area.

Sorry to hear you're run down Maddie, cold sore's a definite sign. Take care of yourself.:)

    Back soon.

    Had a lovely day off.

Went to see "Interstellar" very good although I'm sure the science was a bit dodgy, either that or I'm a bit thick. Will run it by DS1 and get him to elucidate........:rotfl:

Then a lovely supper at one of my favourite restaurants.

My "date" - an old friend was charming company and I had a really nice time.

Maman your trip to France sounds good as does your trip to the medieval fayre Maddie, just the sort of little outings that my OH and I used to do. Oh well I'll just have to do things on my own in future.

I have been a bit of a recluse these last few months since OH Died but I'm beginning to think more about my future and I think I'm ready to start socialising a bit more.

Hope your eye gets better soon, Maddie, that must have been really sore. I agree cold sores are often a sign of being run down, time for some TLC.....

LL - so pleased that you had a lovely evening.

I am quite happy to go out and do things on my own, if it is the type of thing that OH is not interested in, but that is very different to having to do that always when partner is no longer here. You are a strong and resourceful lady and I am sure that you will find your way when the time is right for you:)

We moved 150 miles back to my home county 3 years ago, to be nearer to family, I love it here, but both our families are busy working and with growing children, it nice knowing that they are only an hour or so away, but I have missed my craft girlies, ex-colleagues and neighbours of up to 30 years, my bestie lives an hour away, but miss the regular interaction of a small town. I am getting to know people, but know that if I was on my own I would have to make a lot more effort to join clubs and societies etc (I think that you mentioned U3A - I did go to the allowed taster sessions in the south, then we decided to move away).

I'm glad you enjoyed your evening out too LL. It's good that you're starting to feel a bit more social. Since your DH died you may not have been feeling like it but you haven't exactly had the time to devote to old/new friends. Maybe that can be a new year's resolution?

I've done a little fabbing today. I've got a lovely little skincare set from Benefit that I was given with some purchases a while ago. It's a tiny pot of each of their skincare range and it's been sitting in the bathroom for months! So I decided that (like many potions and lotions) I need to focus on using it up. I used some today and it smells gorgeous, so fresh. I'll take it with me to France (ideal for a short stay) and maybe when I need new things I'll buy some more.

I don't know about you but it always amazes me when people around the mse site say they spend a chunk of their grocery budget on toiletries. I seem to take an age to use things up. I promise I am clean!!!:D but a bottle of shower gel, for instance, seems to last for ever. Hopefully I won't get new smellies for Christmas. Hope that doesn't sound ungrateful but I have to use up the ones I've got!

Tried on the oyster satin top. It's much too big and not flattering so rather than take it in I'll take it to the CS and someone else can enjoy it for Christmas. I'm going to wear a purple camisole which fits beautifully with evening trousers and heels. Just need to hope the venue is warm but will take a pashmina.

Have a good day all. Beautifully sunny here. Bit of a waste really but I plan to spend afternoon ironing :( and listening to radio.:)

Hi everyone, hope you're all enjoying the weekend, it's gorgeous here so we've just been for a walk on the beach, a coffee and a little bit of gift shopping.

I know what you mean maman, I buy maybe two bottles of bodywash a year for myself, it just seems to last for ages.

Although I'm pretty upset that my favourite brooch broke on Friday night (and I didn't see it until about an hour ago) I'm not doing too badly with my clothes. A couple of people have asked me if I've lost weight, I haven't - in fact if anything it's the opposite, I think my clothes are just far more flattering. The skin oil I bought from the vegan fair has worked wonders for my skin. Not that it was bad before, but my face has a nice glow to it now.
  • I agree re toiletries. I do have a stash to use up, but mainly because I buy when on offer (body shop sometimes have great offers) and from wilkos/home bargains/B&M. Never buy from supermarkets as part of the regular shop.
