No personal fabbing for me so far today however I have scrubbed the house from top to bottom and organised loads of things to take to the charity shop.
I have been frustrated by various things over the last couple of days so tonight I am going to have a nice hot bubble bath and spoil myself to make sure I shake off that frustration and start the weekend relaxed and fabulousTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
I lurked on later half of the last thread and hopped over to the new one. I thought I ought to come out of the shadows if you will have me - I must say I have enjoyed reading the thread so far.
A little about me, I have just turned 37 and am about 2 weeks away from finding out whether I have have cervical cancer. I'm in the position that the consultant has told me that I definitely need hospital treatment it's just now confirming what that treatment entails. May only be pre cancerous - fingers and toes crossed!!!!!
My nails break easily and my cuticles seem to be very dry so I'm starting off with cuticle cream and hand cream nightly.
I'm also trying to remember to do the night cream and day cream stuff.
And because I don't look my best at the moment ( some days worse than others- lack of sleep) putting some make up on in the morning so I go to work looking at best half human! Am lucky with skin normally so don't have to fuss to much.
Wasn't part of the plan but I gave my feet a treat this evening - soak, scrub and moisturise now have socks on and feet up.No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries: July stash 72/0 INS/2 UU/0 TA0 -
Welcome to Faerie and g-t-s, you are going through some hard stuff, positive thoughts and virtual hugs coming your way.
Fabbed up for Friday and took Ma out to meet up with my Uncle for lunch, it was great to be able to get them together, they live just about 1 hour apart, but Ma does not drive and Uncle tends not to go that far these days. Lovely lunch enjoyed in pretty thatched pub.
Very heavy rain and thunderstorms today, but managed to stay dry, the good thing is that no watering of the garden required today.
Advice please? I was given a nice self tan kit with mitt etc as a gift ages ago, but have been too lazy to use it, in what order should I shave legs, exfoliate etc and how long should I leave between each stage (I do have sensitive skin)? The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Sounds like you're having a stressful time - fwiw I find that my nails/hair are always worse when I've been under stress. One tip for nails is using Vaseline on them - I'm told it works absolute wonders (& is cheaper than other methods :money:)0 -
Hello everyone
I am wondering if it would be possible to join you all please?
I have had several years under a lot of stress and illness and the overall result has been downwards and outwards. So onwards and upwards sounds good.
This is finally a good place to start. I have just started 7 weeks holiday. I usually have pre- packed my summer holidays with so much, but this year I have deliberately left them quite empty.
I am very overweight, chronically unfit and have a bad back, a chaotic wardrobe and no beauty routine to speak of. This year I have been very lucky to be inspired by getting a wonderful classroom assistant. She is in her fifties, a runner, a cyclist, super slim and takes really good care of herself. She is a kind and inspiring lady and has been a huge encouragement to me this year. I want to surprise her by going back after the summer, fitter, healthier and slimmer and looking a wee bit fabber.0 -
Welcome Prudent :-)
Wow - seven weeks holiday (I'm guessing you work in education?) - that'll give you chance to have a good start! Do you have a plan for what you'll tackle first? Can you throw money at it initially?
If I had seven weeks - and the money! - I'd go to a beauty counter and get them to recommend some skin care, or I'd go to a salon for a facial and ask what they recommended. Fwiw I really love brands like dermalogica (expensive but slightly better on ebay), origins etc. A cheaper alternative which is also good (in my experience) is Lush. You can buy much cheaper products, but if I was starting out I'd definitely go to one of the above to ask them about my skin type, kind of products they'd recommend etc.
I'd then join a gym and book some personal training sessions and ask them to put together a weightloss/fitness programme for me - they seem to be happy to do this generally. Also, there should be at least some sunny days over the next seven weeks, so you could take advantage of this, go for long walks, bike rides (if you have a bike, or see if you can get a cheap one from ebay/freecycle etc).
Exercise can take a while to get in the habit of, but if you set yourself small goals each day/week, it's doable.0 -
Hello newbies,
This is such a lovely thread and the ladies are very friendly. This thread is full of positivity and reminders when we need it to be gentle with ourselves
Hope you enjoy it and feel free to post as often as you like, I'm a bit of a haphazard poster but I do read and catch up when I post.
Little by little is the theme here......
Go on, be beautiful xx0 -

My nails are breaking too since I was really ill. I've just started taking some suppliments for skin hair and nails, so I'll let you know if they help. Today I'm going to take back a foundation .. it's estee lauder doublewear and it stung my rosacea skin. I have been on such a hunt for the perfect foundation, and the one I'm sticking to is E.L.F mineral foundation. It was lots cheaper than bare minerals and was a perfect colour match. The BM one made me look orange! It also was really soothing to my skin as it has zinc in it. I have also ordered a Clinique redness correcting yellow powder and a BMs redness remedy pre color corrector and treatment and a BM primer. I am sold on mineral makeup , it looks flawless and heals the skin! what are you ladies doing in the Fabbing dept today?xMany thanks to all who contribute on MSE0
