Well done everyone on the weight loss, fabbing and general greatness that's going on...
I tried to give up sugar and lasted 5 days then crumbled.. So annoyed at myself but hey... That's what you do when stressed.
Liking forward to two weeks off And hopefully some good news.. Fingers crossed!! Hopefully then less eating sugar and more moving in the gym...
Just spend most of last night wrapping gifts so not much left to do.. Only then I'll need to do the dreaded house clean... & get the tree up..
Anyway happy weekend folks0 -
Good morning all.
Having a really lazy morning, still in my pjs. Lovely and bright but so coooold outside, just going to wrap up and pootle down to the shops for some milk. For saying there's only two of us we get through gallons of the stuff. I really ought to cut back on that now that my tummy is healed - I really need to watch the calories and try and shed some weight. That is my next big project for next year but more of that later when we post up our new year goals.
I have had a really bad flair up of muscle pain, this last couple of days, yesterday my foot was so bad I could hardly weight bear. Partly the cold weather but mainly down to overuse with all the work in the house.
Definitely time for a nice long rest over the holidays.0 -
LL thanks for your words of wisdom on braces. I had some when I was younger but they obviously didn't get the job done! The surgery I would need would bring my lower jaw forward so that my teeth would meet. I've got another appointment on Wednesday to discuss it in further detail so maybe they will be able to give me more advice on what the outcome will be. My problem is that I have a rather large chin, which has actually worked in my favor as it cancels out the fact that my lower jaw is smaller so I don;t have the weak chin that is often associated with a bad overbite, but I'm worried that if my jaw is corrected then my chin will look massive! I guess I'll have to see what they say on Wednesday. I could go private and just have my gaps corrected with a brace, but that would be expensive and wouldn't correct my bite.No more goo hoarding!

Definitely Frump hat on here today, I spent over 4 hours in the company of a friend at girlie meal on Wednesday, when I saw her yesterday she said that she had been very poorly with a cough and cold that came out of no-where that evening:(, Low and behold I woke last night with a "barbed wire" throat and a thick head, I have slobbed around all day, but managed a few chores and made a huge vat of Immunity Soup which contains lots of fresh vegetables and large quantities of garlic, ginger and white or black pepper, last making was delicious as well as germ busting, but have somehow made it too peppery:eek:, I kept adding more stock and loads of lemon juice, ate a large bowlful, but OH struggled with his, so now put in handfuls of rice, have enough to feed a small village now:rotfl::rotfl:
Showered and hair washed at last so need to style hair and dress to brave the bitter cold wind and walk Miss Border Collie, hopefully will blow a few cobwebs away:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
:hello:
It's been rather busy over here with one thing and another so not a great lot of fabbing been going off. I have had bits of sniffles and avoided the full cold/chesty cough but Sunday morning I woke up and it had arrivedLuckily it has cleared a little today but I am giving running a miss in the hope I can clear it quicker. Last bootcamp was Saturday and I was happy as I improved on all the testing (1.5mile run, then 2minutes each of pressups, sit-ups and squat jumps)!! Paid my deposit for the next one which starts 17th Jan, day before my Birthday
I now need to keep on top of exercising and healthy eating until then, well you know the best I can given it's the season to eat lots :rotfl:
Hugs to those having a rough time and well done to those for weight loss and achievements :clap:Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Hi everyone, I hope that everyone is keeping warm:D, no sun here today to take the chill off. Yesterday was cold and sunny so managed to spend a little time in garden which made me feel good.
I need to find something warm and cosy to wear into town, I have lined and very warm "leisure/outdoorsy" trousers, so I think a very casual look and a bright jazzy hat will have to suffice today:D
My blood test are back showing anaemia, but nothing nasty indicated so far, spoke to a lovely GP and to have a few more tests including for Coeliac, in the meantime I am taking a gentle iron supplement.
I spent a very sticky hour or so this morning with Manuka honey dabbed onto the sore spots on my face (note to self - wear a headband next time:eek:) it was very soothing so will try and repeat a couple of times a day, there is no way that I can face the side effects of anti-biotics at the moment, so hopefully the honey will help a little.
Pirateyqueen - I hope that you get the information you need to make the decision regarding surgery:)
newthrift - your excercise schedule make me feel positively weary:rotfl: pleased that it works for you:)
LL - sorry about the pain flare up, I hope that it is receeding now, love hearing about the house developments, you will soon have it as you and your DS want:)The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Very quick post to say I hope you keep warm today maddie. I went to football last night and wore a pair of thermal trousers I bought in Aldi. First time wearing them and they were excellent! Unfortunately they only sell things like this intermittently but I'd thoroughly recommend if anyone sees them. I think about £14 and well worth it.:)0

Hi everyone,
Thank you for the lovely warm welcome, sorry it's taken me so long to come back. Lots going on at the moment! Well done to everyone who's lost weight and achieved goals and get well soon to everyone who's coming down with the winter lurgy!
I've not been doing too badly since I last posted. Been fairly good about washing and drying my hair and making lots of effort with my skin (even managed a facial at home on the weekend!). I ruined my nails cleaning again, but I took care not to cut them too short this time and I think they look quite nice- although they grow really quickly I think keeping them short might be a better option until I can be bothered maintaining them. I'm thinking a nice bath tonight with some deep conditioner on my hair and painting my toes afterwards!
Can I ask if anyone has set any goals for 2015? I've been thinking lately and have a couple:
-Finally lose weight! Most of my clothes are a bit too small- they'll go on but are just a bit too tight and uncomfortable. I've been meaning to lose enough weight to wear them again for a while, but this year I'm either going to actually do it or get rid of the clothes!
-Do my best to get gorgeous skin- getting perfect skin has been on my list since I was about 13 so I have to accept this may never happen but I'm going to try my best!
-Look after my clothes and get rid of lots of things- I'm lucky enough to have a spare room that I use as a dressing room and it's honestly full of stuff I don't wear, either because it doesn't fit or because I just don't like it, but I still don't want to get rid of a lot of it. I keep my shoes on shelves and have had some problems with mould, so a few weekends ago I took them all off, brushed, polished and sprayed them and put them back and they look great. This weekend I'm going to try to find some time to repair some coats that have had their linings ripped. I'm going to wear more of what I own and look after it all better!
I'm sure I'll have a few more goals before the new year but I'd love to hear all of yours!"I don’t keep up with the Joneses, I try to drag them down to my level" - Quentin Crisp0 -
I still need to increase it a little too maddie :D Hope you are a little warmer today, tuck up under a blanket with a nice book
enchilada Ooo some good goals there!!! I am rather jealous of your dressing roomI would love one! So far on my list is to hit my goal size but I have not sat and had much thought about them yet. Will have to make myself a list once I decide and stick it somewhere I can see :T

Good morning ladies
Very quiet on here. Hope you are all busy fabbing away.
We'll have I been busy.final bits of painting and now the big clean up.
Wardrobes up and ready to be loaded later today, a chest of drawers painted pale grey, new knobs to go on later. Then We can get to grips with the bedrooms, going to have a major declutter and wardrobe clear out.
Need to think about shoe storage.......
Cold here but no real storms as yet.
I am interested to hear about thermal or lined trousers. Never thought about getting any because unlike my sister I'm no longer into horses or have a dog to walk every day. They do sound like a great idea.
I did buy myself some thermal leggings and I've been wearing them under my dressy trousers which are a bit thin.
I am wearing thermal vests now and they do make a huge difference, warmth without bulk so you don't go around looking like the MIchelin MAn.
SInce having problems with my adrenal glands I've noticed that I have had a lot of muscle pain recently and keeping warm is essential to avoid flare ups. Thankfully my recent flare up has now subsided and I feel a lot better.
Ooh a dressing room - how fab is that......I would love one or at least a walk in wardrobe that you see on American films. I did have a walk in wardrobe once in a flat I was renting. If I do manage to build my own house next year then that would definitely been on my must have list, that and a pantry/utility room.;)
Christmas shopping done, just a few bits and pieces left.
I'm struggling a bit with Christmas this year. I'm very happy to be sharing it with the boys but tbh I cant face the thought of spending time with other people. I can't even face writing Christmas cards so I think I might just leave it for now and then just do a round robin type letter in the new year.
If people take umbrage then tough.....
I know it sounds a bit selfish but I just feel that I have to be careful of my mental wellbeing at the moment. The last thing I need is to get overwhelmed and sink into depression.
Distancing myself from the festive season won't hurt just this once. Forcing myself to take part in the merry throngs is I think the wrong thing for me to do, I need to just take a step back this year and spend time with the boys. That seems to be what they want too.
I've got lots of ideas for next year, I suppose the big one is either buying or building a house, but I've not made any real plans yet. Lots of smaller projects, a couple of trips and one or two new things to try.
I mean this in the nicest of ways, because as you know I would give my right arm to have my husband back with me, but that just isn't going to happen.
So after devoting so many years, so much time, effort and energy to looking after him, I feel that it's Time I started thinking about myself. It's my time now and I need to make the most of it. Not quite sure of what lies ahead but I intend to start living for myself a bit, not in a selfish way but just making the most of life.
Don't forget ladies, it's fab Friday.
I need to go to the tip and then get cracking on the big clean up so no diamond tiaras today.:rotfl:0
