Good morning all
I prepared breakfast an hour ago and made us a cuppa. but DH has not noticed his (he's still in the Land of Nod). I need another one now.
After yesterday's heavy downpours, today has dawned sunny and clear. The jackdaws are being really noisy! - they have been breaking sticks off the ash tree, and our lawn is covered with them.
No need to water the garden today, and the lawn's too wet to mow, but I must pot up some Michaelmas daisy plugs which arrived yesterday and try to keep them safe from our voracious slugs and snails.
Managed to get printer cartridges yesterday, so I must crack on with making more course resources and greetings cards. The main rooms are tidy, but my study isn't! And if I could knuckle down to making the second Ethiopian chariot, I could clear the table in the utility, but I fear it will be a struggle in my current frame of mind. The rain seems to have washed away all my GUAG.
Here's the one I made earlier. Thanks for the parasol, mrs-mp :T0 -

Thanks for the heads up Dusty about comms. I'm always surprised when people go off piste on Ebay because it's so obvious they begrudge paying the commission. Bonkers, deceitful and dishonest.
I did that yesterday!! I had a baby changing table listed, well, relisted due to a timewaster, so when someone messaged offering 50% more than the start price with collection that day I snapped their hand off.. I wanted rid of a huge item and they wanted it now.. worked well for us both! .. and Ebays fees are disgusting, the amount they take has increased massively over the 13 years I've been using it, they are thieves. I did leave the listing up until it had actually gone from the house before removing it.
You, as a seller, cannot leave negative for @$$hole buyers which is very very wrong and no one can be made aware the buyer is a crook which deceives sellers. You have no 'goods protection' .. a person can claim/lie and say they have not received the item, or it is broken and get their money back leaving you with no item and no money and in fact owing Ebay... it is absolutely out of order.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Morning all
Have run my duvet cover through the wash - washed it last week (I use sheets so don't need to wash it every week) but old cat threw a furball up on it in the week so it needed doing again.

Hmm. Having to rethink quite a lot, aren't I? In reality, I don't ffleabay enough to realise all of the pitfalls and I have a very unrealistic view of the world, it seems.
In addition, OH and I have been talking about the whole lodger thing. I'm noticing changes in people's behaviour that I find unappealing, and I'd rather live with less money than feel disappointed by them like this. Very sad. Pollyanna has left the building. I'm going to have to let go of my unrealistic expectations.
Lovely chariot, Ionafan.Better is good enough.0 -
Honey.. instead of short lets/holiday lets.. is it possible for it to provide a permanent/longer term home for someone? It may be a steady income but you would have a security bond for damage and a tenancy agreement and legal protection to a degree? I hate seeing you so down about this
I know you love your little cottage.
Box filled for CS from front room and the bags of stuff loaded into the car.. I have a couple more upstairs to go but my front room is looking clearer.. I have straightened the bookcase so it looks nice..
Pics to go on walls piled on the sofa and a bunch of stuff to do pics of and hopefully get rehomed for cash.. ooh.. needed a siggy strip update! I am saving £6000 .. well, selling crap to that point
WM on with cat cushions,
TD airing damp bits from yesterday
Everyone fed and I am back in the front room sorting the mess! *sigh* It is never ending in here!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Afternoon all
Honey - we all know what our acceptable levels are and need to stick to them. There are still a lot of great, honest people out there and our flylady thread acts like a magnet to attract them:)
Boys have helped finish cutting the hedge and the grape vine, I have one more bush to clip out the front in a minute.
Hoovered and mopped today too.
Friend coming to mull over some governor stuff in 15 minutes (she is a gov) so could just get the hedge clipped first.
Planning a change to the lists next week - any serious objectors? Reason being I feel some of us are just coasting so a mix up may spur on a bit of activity. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Of course, in my situation, I just have to Fly as and when I can, to whatever level I'm able at the time, so don't really follow the lists anyway.
I do want to try and get back into more of a proper routine though.:o
Anyways, we've done nearly all our weekend tasks; Mr LW is ironing his last shirt for next week, and has a few hankies still to do, then we need to clean the bath-lift and test the smoke alarm, and then we'll be all up to scratch.:TIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Thanks Dusty and Pigpen. The chalet isn't the issue, but thank you so much for making the suggestion. By and large it's valued, appreciated and a very happy place. It's the people in the house that are grinding me down. And the Flylady Thread is bringing some sanity back into my life, so thank you everyone.
I'm up for an energy injection next week, so whatever changes you're planning, Dusty are just fine with me.Better is good enough.0 -

Anything you can think of to give me a bit of energy and some inclination to do anything in this hovel must be worth a try
Afternoon all! Good to have Bonnie back and to see more newbies have joined us"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

HB (((HUG))) Don't let those ignorant wotnots get to you; (yeah, I know that's easy to say, not so easy to do). But remember the Rule of Three - whatever vibes you put out in life will come back to you three times over. They may not actually have to wash floors, but I'm betting they'll find themselves on their hands and knees three times at some point soon.;)
Not that I'd ever hex such a thing onto anyone.....
Fwiw, my canine clients seem to appreciate what I do for them - that said, I have two small dogs occupying four fifths of the sofa at this point in time!:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
