Hello all, dailies and village shop done. Also planted some new flowers and walked dogs. It's raining so I've been wasting time on here and ordered some more hayfever tabs.

Just having lunch and will then pop to the village fete which I doubt will be held outdoors as planned.

I hope everyone is having a great day.

Friends been and gone, DS3 is tired so having some quiet time in his room until the rain stops then he'll go to cricket to score, if it doesn't get called off. DS2 and DS1 gone to thei games. Towels on the line being rained on but hoping it is a passing shower.

    Shower room cleaned
DS1's bed stripped and in the machine - need to get that dry though so playing the weather game.

Right do I clear the table or dust the bedrooms?

been round mils got all the moss and silt out of the front gutters and gave the gutters and facias a good wash down made it look 100% better. she lives in a bungalow not a 2 storey so i was ok balanced on a pair of steps. flower border between hers and next doors all weeded and dead headed (3 garden bags of stuff taken out) so it all looks much better. appt all sorted and in my diary so they take priority over everything.

going to take Dh out for a walk and a meal in a bit (for tea) as hes still in shock over his mum and taking it all quite badly.

hat parts all knitted so im going to sew that together later

hugs to all who need them

Bonnie how lovely to see you back!:T

My kitchen hot tap has died. It won't dispense water. At all. Even Mr LW can't persuade it.:( Our friendly plumber (the same chap who replaced our dead boiler over the Xmas period the year before last) has been to assess the situation, and is going to fit a nice new mixer tap for me next Thursday; Mr LW says his boss will let him wfh that day as it's not month-end, and it counts as a domestic crisis; so it's boil the kettle for washing up in the meantime. Not ideal, as I can barely lift a full kettle, even using both hands, but we'll manage; I'll just have to be careful.;)

Mr LW has volunteered to get up extra early next week, too, so that he can help me walk the doggies before he goes to work.:A Their talent at Lead Macrame has to be seen to be believed, and it's taking me over an hour to get round a walk that should take only 30 minutes at most, as I have to keep stopping to untangle them. My hands are now so weak that I thread dog leads through a webbing belt which I wear, so the dogs can't pull free of me, and of course with two of them, weaving back and forth, the leads get 'orribly tangled; with Mr LW along, he takes Ellie so I only have Coco to deal with.

Weekend tasks are under way - bedlinen has been changed and washed (had to put the TD on, as it's soggy out:() and we've done the F&V run - also stocked up on senna tablets, and did a Mr T shop, stocking up on washing powder which was on special offer among other things, as I had a £6 off £40 spend voucher to use by tomorrow.

Have a good weekend all, and try not to get soaked if you have to go out!;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Still on my list to do:
Read meters (its cold and wet out)
Sort out broken TV box (can't face being on the phone for hours to the company)
Clean car (its cold and wet out)

But I did go the fete and I have read the paper and done the puzzle. Oh and I did venture out to walk the dogs again.

Well, up here in Yorkshire we seem to be having better weather than everywhere else which is a very rare thing! Been a bit chilly today but dry at least.

I have done some voluntary work this morning and have been to my dog walking group this aft. Which means that very little else has got done - so I really need to shift myself tomorrow and catch up on some jobs.

Just had a thought - we are nearly half way through 2014, and I have managed to stay around here for 6 months which I am pleased about.

Honey Bear, your lodger sounds delightful. Hope he pays well!

I am officially chilling now, but I will be busy tomorrow I promise!

    Evening

Been to cricket for the last 4 hours. Just making a snack for me, boys done and bathing, all very tired. I need to finish tumbling the towels and tidy up a bit in the kitchen. Tomorrow's plan is to really crack on with paperwork and gardening whilst DS3 is at a party - 8:30 am drop off - eek on a Sunday.

The rates are going up. The damage that has been done over the last year is more than in the entire 20 years I've been taking them. And Niffy Lodger will find a 'No Vacancies' sign when he returns next year.

Thanks for the heads up Dusty about comms. I'm always surprised when people go off piste on Ebay because it's so obvious they begrudge paying the commission. Bonkers, deceitful and dishonest.

Wretched w!1lko has sold out of the dark blue double duvet covers I went to get this arvo - because I couldn't find a parking space on the Hoe when I got back from the chalet. That's a first - everyone moans about parking here, but in reality I've never, in 21 years of living in this house, not found a space before, but because it was Armed Services day the place was heaving. Absolutely brilliant. And I saw (and heard) the Spitfire. Lovely.
    Better is good enough.
