Tomatoes In A Hanging Basket ?

Hi Al, Someone told me that i can grow tomatoes in a hanging basket this summer as i do not have a greenhouse. does anyone know if this is right and if so which variety ? :beer:

DD was given a grow your own toms kit, reduced as it was probably too late to plant. We have a very warm conservatory and her plants are now 4 inches high.

If I put them into tubs on the patio now, will she still get a crop? Or is it too late this year?
