Well as of this month I'll be saving £17 on my phone calls.

I also save regularly on my shopping bills.

    I also saved £30 on a lawnmower

A Big THANK YOU to this site as without it I wouldn't have made as many savings as I do.

I know I am definatley saving more than I used to on things :T but in turn I treat myself to a slightly better lifestyle but I don't live above my means :D .

how i got £400 in vouchers

    1. tesco credit card ( paid in full each month)
    2. put everything you can on it i even do utilities that allow
    3. i drive a taxi so use about £150 of tesco fuel on my card as well
    4. insure car , is £2000 on card
    5. shop at tesco
    6. let friends buy online with my credit card

get the idea , use them as they use us , they might know what i spend and when but it's not all my spending anyway , so that will muck up there profile of me.

    finally enjoy the holiday.

Not sure if I've saved money or spent it. So far this week, this site has cost me £160 - two Medion Portable DVDs and Three Phillips MP3 Players. Luckly I couldn't locate a £99 Sony Camcorder as that would have pushed it up to £260.

Thanks to those who posted these "bargains" keep up the good work.

Well - as Im in the opposite predicament to most - I dont hardly spend a penny. Therefore - as I dont spend much (no house/hol etc - only board & 1/3 of bills) cant reduce/save on spending much either.
I connected to 1899 - brilliant - just before I found this site (Motley Fool mailed me on it),
I took out the A & L online savings and A & L ISA on MSE advice for stooxing & saving purposes (then the rates dropped).
I looked at the energy site for elec bills but as it was only going to save around £10 - didnt bother.
My biggest bill is bloomin diesel for the car - 100 miles a day almost to Orange & back. Any company out there would like to sponsor me to trial new cars?
Im eager to use the car insurance sites - I think MSE said there were just 2 I should check to get the best. I always love saving on insurance but the occasional lamp post and lightfingered thief doesnt help.
Im forever on the look out for the bargain - but just dont really nead much.

    Since seeing the light 1 year ago,I have saved;
1,500 on a holiday to Sharm-el- Sheikh, July 2004, a beautiful place which I would recommend anyone to visit despite the problems of last week,
    house and contents insurance 117
    car insurance 165
contact lenses savings 100 (I have since found more savings to be made here 30)
    telephone savings 120
    sky savings 60
    leccie and gas 100
life insurance 180 (plus the policy is for half as much again payout)
    petrol 40
use of coupons and offers 100
using cashback for healthcare 300 ( after deducting the payments)
I have also had numerous freebies, bargins like the iron which was needed and was reduced from 85 to 35, found via a link from a post on MSE, and for which I used a 10 voucher which I got by following info. on Yes, MSE! so I eventually paid 25 pounds for it. I have also acquired a slow cooker from a relative who didn't use it and am saving money with this. My most recent bargins are; a top of the range carpet from Hugh Mckie for 50 which has carpeted my stairs and the landing and another for the study, again top of the range i.e. around 54.99/ sq mtr, for 44 but which has actually enough left to carpet at least 1 more room the same size. Last week I was also vistited by a WarmWearside rep. who assessed our 4 bedroomed detached for cavity wall insulation and loft insulation, something which we have been meaning to do for yonks. He measured up and gave us a price of 107 for the loft, it has a huge extension as well, and 99 for the cavity wall insulation!!!! He asked if I would like to progress the application!! guess my answer!! They informed me that the scheme was ending in 2 days time so I signed up and they have just rang me to ask if they can do the cavity wall tomorroe as they have had a cancellation! All of the info. for this was from my wonderful MSE site. I would just like to say thanks to Martin and all of you for your great support and time and effort. I am a person who prided myself on money saving and bought Martin's book last year expecting to learn very little. How wrong can you be I have become so much more savvy about money now and will be eternally gratful to you all. Thanks again

    Hi everyone,
just and update on the last post. The cavity wall insulation guys came to do the insulation and duly set about getting the job done. After a while they came to say that there was a small area that they couldn' t get to, due to our neighbours extension, so they discussed all of the possibilities and after I had rung the council for, free, advice on what to do they came back and said that because their man had given me the wrong info. they had been told to complete the job for free!!!! How good is that. I honestly didn't have a problem with the slight mix up but neither did I argue with them!!! Instead I gave them some more coffee and a home made biscuit and we were all happy. I just love money saving! When my husband came home we realised that I had earned more than him, and I had been at home all day on hol., since I had also been pm'ed by a fellow MSEer and we had applied for the 50 recommend a friend from A&L. How great is MSE
