However when drivers say "he appeared out of nowhere" what they nearly always mean is "I didn't see where he appeared from because I wasn't looking properly and/or going too fast". Which is a slightly different matter...

This post is funny, the OP admits liability, then says its pedestrian's fault, then blames the council as they dont have CCTV with a tanoy system so the security guard who wanders off can magically shout at the pedestrian who wont be able to hear anyway due to the racing motorist.

I personally blame NATO, their satellites should have picked it up.
