Hi lilherbz,
Thanks for your reply, he has been seeing the councillor on his own once a week and I have seen a huge difference in him. He has started to relax alot more, he is more decisive too. Things between us have improved no end and it feels like we are getting our relationship back.
Regarding the teambuilding course he went on, they are no longer sending employees from his company anymore, They have had several complaints from people who have attended them (they have only done 2 with 12 people on each, I thought they had been doing them for ages!) and of those 24 people 3 have ended their marriages, and 1 started an affair (NOT my partner!!) apparently they "initiate a new way of thinking but this can be taken out of a work context and applied to personal life situations but instead raise expectations with are unrealistic and unattainable" (this is an email they sent to a friend who works for a HR company and she has been contacting them and finally got a response- they dont have a phone number or address on their website!)
So as far as things are going, he seems to be improving, we are taking things one day at a time but he seems to be happier than ever. Hopefully the counselling continues to help!
Thanks for all the replies.0 -
I've been on one of those weekends and they can be very powerful if not overpowering. It sounds like he's doing everything he can I wish you both the very best of luck x0

Say who? What was your experience like?
He said that during the weekend nothing really stuck with him, and the rest of the people who went said the same. It was a few days after they all came back. One guy took almost a week off work because his head was all over the place and he didn't know how to deal with it.
It sounds so weird talking about it to people, makes it sound like brain-washing or something similar. The fact they have a website, but no phone number or address made me feel very wary also.
In the midst of all this I was desperate for answers so I emailed them from work, making out like I was trying to arrange a weekend for some of our employees and they never replied, my friend did the same and got nothing back, then she asked her boss (from the HR firm) to email and she got a response, with the line I posted before ("initiate a new way of thinking but this can be taken out of a work context and applied to personal life situations but instead raise expectations with are unrealistic and unattainable").
I would be very interested to hear what your experience was like x0
