What list some web site that the majority don't know about .
Thats the basic problem same as MES forum only those that feel hard done by generally post a complaint .
I personally have been with multiple providers since the dawn of the internet and only found two of them top class . F2S and BE the rest have either been ok or poor .

Sorry I'm a bit late commenting on this but, as with the concensus above, I'd not touch talktalk with a barge pole, attached to a very long barge that had a 50 foot tow rope attached to a tow horse.

Search my threads if you need any more convincing, their prices are often the cheapest but there's a very good reason for that; their customer service is appaling!

When TalkTalk works, the service is excellent and you'll be hard pushed to find a better supplier for the cost. The problems start when you experience a technical issue as it can be very hit or miss as to what level of support you get. People do say the best support is obtained via their forums, I'm no longer a believer of that as they just roll out a list of questions and seem to go around in circles and it takes forever to get resolved via their forums.

With regards to Plusnet, I've been with them for years and I've currently got a fault ticket open thats nearly 3 days old and hasn't received a response yet. Last time I had a fault on my TalkTalk service, they resolved it within 24 hours with constant updates via email and a few text messages.

People bash TalkTalk based on their history/past they really aren't as bad as they used to be.

TalkTalk Are Just Horrible. Call centre staff Whom you can barely understand what each other is saying. A complete inability to follow a simple request, Calling me up 17 times in two days!!!!

Also: The TalkTalk Youview Box "Worth £299!" I would not even give you £2.99 for. It is terrible. Half the time it does not turn on, The rest of the time you press a button and it takes several minutes before anything actually happens. Pathetic.

I've been with talk-talk for a few years now, but I'm currently in the process of picking someone to switch to.

Their prices are no longer as competitive as they used to be, their customer service is all abroad and, while the staff all seem to want to help, the fact is they simply lack the knowledge, power and sometimes even the language skills to be able to help.

The main issue for me is they've recently introduced a monthly call allowance. If you make more than £20 worth of calls out, they cut you off until you pay that £20+. It was introduced with no notice - I found out about it the first time they emailed me to let me know I'd used 90% of my allowance for that month. And after my calls were cut off and I paid, it still took a week and me calling to complain before I could make outbound calls again. At the same time, their call charges seem to have been inflated, because I have never spent £20+ on calling people before, but suddenly I was using up my monthly allowance in a fortnight.

Oh, and despite me having paid that £20, they still took the full amount of my phone bill, which means they currently owe me money.

The end result is either paying mid-month, and possibly still getting overcharged when your main bill goes out, or spending half the month without access to a service you're paying for. It's ridiculous, and it feels like a really obvious attempt to scam money out of people under the guise of "helping them to budget" - it's not something you can opt out of, and I've found it makes budgeting more difficult.

My grandparents were also with them, but switched recently after 4 months without internet access. Talk-talk kept claiming it was a problem with the BT line. Funnily enough after my grandparents switched to a new provider, all the "BT line" problems vanished.

    I would not recommend them.

Also, not a big thing but my name has been spelled wrong on their records the entire time I've been with them, although apparently it was corrected each of the half dozen times I called.
  • Only because i was going to an Job interview yesterday in London and noticed TT head quarters was the building next door to the place i was having my interview.

so this way is anything screws up, i know where to go and make myself heard.:D:D:rotfl:

I was shopping around for an isp, decided to do it by phone so I could check the service. Rang talk talk, it took the guy 3 minutes to type my name into the computer, at which point I hung up on them. Sod going through that if I experience a problem.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
