TT 'Unlimited' b/band £1.75/month for 6months, then £3.50,
plus £15.95 line rental (£17.70 / 19.40 totals). free router, and 'homegiard' security(??)

Currently they are doing a £85 love2shop voucher as bait, as on above link..

for an extra £3/month, there is a youview box deal, with free eve & weekend calls..

I am currently on £2.50 bb AND £14.00 L/R (£16.50 total, no calls)..

Are TT worth using, reliability wise? I am tempted for the voucher, tough doing initial check it seems they need to do a new line? (Not so with others I've tried, so guessing its a LLuLu :-)

Hi, we move threads if we think they’ll get more help elsewhere (please read the forum rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.

I’ve moved your thread from the ‘I wanna’ board to the ‘Broadband & Internet Access’ board, where it is better suited.

    Regards

I had to contact them a while back for an AOL customer. They were rather useless.

Customer had already tried speaking to them and got told the modem was faulty. They will be sending a new one out. (modem not router).

They called me enquiring about getting their Ipad etc onto the internet, I said they just need a router i have one they can have.

So i pop up and fit the router. Internet works fine. But its AOL thats the issue. Will not allow them to login, But my old AOL account works fine.
After several calls it turns out they received a dodgy email which they didnt even read. Just deleted it. But TT decided to scramble their password just in case. And nobody told them their password had been scrambled.

I left AOL when TT took over. When things work they are OK. But when it goes wrong you may wish you had not bothered.

i always avoid talktalk. stunning deals but hopeless foreign support with advisors that have no idea what you're going on about half the time and are all indian. i had them in my old property and suffered dropped lines, poor speeds etc. changed to o2 back in the day when they were good and then my line speed dropped by half with them after 3 yrs. they said i could only get a certain speed where before i was double.

for me, plusnet were very good at resolving issues etc.

Now, TalkTalk are the ones that are improving (50% down on complaints) and Plusnet are the ones having customer service issues, due to an explosion of new customers. But they are recruiting new staff to tackle this.

    Swings and roundabouts, really.

I moved to talk talk about 3 months ago cant say I've had a problem with the broadband speed and it hasn't went down so far

However having said that im having trouble with the DD they set up so far I've sent 2 e-mail the reply's received did not answer my very simple question

when I set up the account I gave them my bank details to set up the DD the first month I received a phone call telling me my account was overdue I asked why it hadn't come out by DD was told this sometimes happens with first payment fair enough ok so paid by card (the same card I used to set up the account) this month I checked to see if the DD had gone through this time and was shocked to find out it had come out of my other account I have now asked talk talk how they got the account details for this account 2 e-mails later and still no answer

I was with talk talk many years ago about 6/7 at least and there is a slight chance I used that account with them in the past (I say slight chance because I only use one of my accounts to pay all my bills and its not the one this resent payment came from)

I find this rather disturbing that they MAY have kept my bank details on file years after my account was closed because I cant think of any other way they got the account details
I am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites

If you are in any doubt please seek legal/expert advice help

True but TT tops the list .
Consensuses with TT is for many it works well but once you hit a problem its a black hole .me it took six months and repeated calls to get a refund and funnily enough my speed doubled once i had left TT .
No problems with Virgin with Plusnet or BT .

I'd agree with most of the above - if you have problems, they are a nightmare, although it's 2 years since I left them..
