problems inheriting nectar points from deceased mother

thanks, rustyboy,
the balance is on my mum's sainsburys receipts together with a partial nectar number - sainsburys (eventually) gave me and nectar the full number (based on a sainsburys receipt I sent + address + order number + dob) and nectar (eventually) told me the card belonged to someone else.
Since I initially assumed that was her card I thought the whole £300 belonged to and had been acquired by my mum but I now think she might only have managed £50-£100 during 3 years of deliveries.
sainsburys and nectar both seemed to have gone quiet now.0 -
OK I've emailed a national newspaper to see if they can investigate. They may not, I'm sure only a fraction of queries can be handled.
I suspect Sainsburys and Nectar will just flat bat and say its not illegal (or unusual) for points to go to the card of someone who isn't paying for the purchases and they've no obligation to say how this occured in this case.
I know some people seem to think this is a trivial issue in the context of my mother's death but I'm sure there are posts re smaller sums and my mum's nectar card wasn't of course the first issue I dealt with when she died some months ago. Its not a huge sum to me either (it would have been to my mum) but I'd like to know how this happened. If there is misuse here then the police do investigate similar sums involving nectar points - in fact they are doing so now http://www.guardian-series.co.uk/news/chingford/11260056.CCTV_released_of_loyalty_card_fraudster/0 -
OK well after nectar told me that the points for 3 years of my mother's deliveries went on someone elses card I asked them to investigate.
sainsburys and nectar passed the ball between them for a bit with nectar then saying it woudl investigate,
eventually I got help from a newspaper and nectar have passed the entire balance from this other card (which they described as my mother's account even though I thought they'd said it wasn't) onto my card.
They haven't said that happened though but I guess thats the end of it,
thanks for all your advice and comments0 -
I am pleased that has worked out for you (and i know your mum would be pleased too). It always annoys me however that in many of these cases that get batted back and forth it that when a national paper calls the press office they magically get sorted out.0
