OVO Energy - anyone else tried to use these?

Yes, Victor2, I get the 3%. My slight concern is that the OVO website hasn't been enabling changes of DD s for some days at least. A known tactic of companies facing bankruptcy is to gather in as much cash as possible eg. by offering big discounts for full upfront payment ... replacement window companies like that one ...with subsequent detriment to the customer when they go bust. I started off with OVO paying their suggested amount even though I thought that it looked high. I reduced the DD via their website sometime last Summer with no problem but it's still too high. The arithmetic involved is dead simple and there should be no difficulty in keeping the balance small as long as the mechanism for doing so actually works.

Refund application just worked for me .
But i am not on solid fuel or LPG .

have been with ovo for 3 weeks have never been able to top up without phoning them as I had no electric the last time i had to call from a mobile at £1.50 a minit after 50 minits was told of a cheeper number I should of been given the call cost me £90 when I rang back from a land line to complain was told that I was lying about the time and was nothing they can do my advice to anyone is do not have anything to do with them

Have been with them for about 18 months.


No cause for complaint whatsoever. Can adjust how much I pay online very easily. Totally smooth, no dramas at all.

I've used them before in the past, not for LPG, Heating Oil, Solid & Other Fuels, but for mains gas & electricity
(didn't know they supplied anything else)

No complaints here either

Only reason I'm not currently with them is they are no longer price competitive for me.

Hmm, am I the only one chasing the Smart Meter installation from Ovo ?

My gas meter is partly obstructed by a hedge I was hoping to get easier life installing a Smart Meter as Ovo require meter readings every month, not every 3 months like my previous supplier, Scottish Power.

After reading this thread it looks like it may not a be a good idea then ?
