Morning Pips & all in Stripeyland!

Thought I'd report on our deal of the week! The nice man in A$da let me have first choice of everything in his mark-down trolley! Lesson learned is to never underestimate the power of a please & thank-you! Lots of lamb for £1.50 - Butcher counter chicken wings (also £1.50) - belly strips for 75p & 8 fresh burgers for 1.50 - so all in all about a fiver for a week's worth of meat! - OH is very happy as last night's plate ratios favoured the meat - lol

We're off shortly to visit OH's [STRIKE]mom[/STRIKE] mum - she somehow 'forgot' to tell us she was admited to the hospital and has had an eye operation - we found out from his sister two days after it happened! SIGH!! - a six hour round trip out to the east coast - visiting hours at the hospital start at 2pm.

Have a lovely day all & enjoy the glorious sunshine if you've been gifted with it!
Bargains indeed I hope the trip was safe and the visit OK.

I do like a good meat bargain, :D

And thank you we had some sunshine but a lot of (non behaving) rain.

Good point there M21 - we did this too with a chum and they didn't mind too much.

    Bargains galore eh!

Morning lands sun's here and I've a tonne of washing to pop out.

Kettles on. Must make a plan cos todays a busy one!

Good Morning all in stripey land!

Hope you had a great weekend Pips - your chicken piccies on the book of face have kept OH highly amused!

Many thanks for the tip M2O - I passed the info on to OH for next week & he's in the process of contacting the sister on the ward - it was a looooong & emotional weekend - with mum-in-law much worse than we had expected - we've started to arrange home care for when she's released & have discussed the dreaded option of a care home as well! She's going to flip when she finds out - never thought a frail 83 year old would scare me!

Have taken the day off from work to recover from the weekend!:rotfl:Thankful for an understanding boss! Off to catch up on life - MSE & otherwise!

Oops - looks like we cross-posted!
...I do like a good meat bargain, :D...

OH had the cheek to tell the check-out girl that if it were not for yellow-stickers we would not eat meat!

It's almost true - but really - that's like hanging your knickers out in the front garden! - our meat consumption at full price usually consists of eeking out some beef/pork mince or rubberizing a chicken! (sorry to the girls - have them cover their ears!)

    Today requires a list...:D

...and an EPIC list it is too! :jDidn't realize your holibubs were almost upon us! - That came round really quickly!

Thanks soooo much for the hugs - always much appreciated! - We'll muddle through slowly but surely! (I'm dreading the inevitable confrontation with sis-in-law but it will have to be done!)

Tell the feathery girl I have no intention of rubberizing her! She's filling in well - but methinks she might have delusions of being a housepet?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm slowly catching up on life - 3rd load of laundry in - dishwasher unloaded/loaded/unloaded & reloaded - hand washing done & pots/pans scrubbed - grocery 'musts' pondered & meal plan & shopping list done - we are going to attack the freezer & storecupboard this week & possibly most of next as well - all dinners this week to be meat based so OH a happy camper - now am about to start making inroads on e-mail box & weekly planner! Whew what a morning! - afternoon seems to be more of the same!

  • Hugs love again.

Sounds like a busy day all round.

Greta says thank you for not rubberising her.

    Lots done here.

Just had a bite of lunch and de-grubbed the fridge of anything that will spoil. TRG's family are here this week so they can fend for themsleves!

Washing dry and in the bag, I appear to have a rusted through washing whirly gig.

    Sigh.

Reply back already from some life admin mail. Always good when folks are efficient.

    Done some post

Must cut the grass, enthusiasm is flagging might need a cuppa.

Made some recycled wasp traps and am experimenting with cider/wine/sugar syrup.

They're all in the house and a nuisance. I don't like trapping things but needs must.

A bit like this we made. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Wasp-Trap

    Any other ideas well welcomed.
