Pavlova is something I've only seen in pictures. I'm quite impressed that you made this Pips!
Starnac, it so thrilling to see the milestones accomplished. Bike balancing is always such a big one. They feel so proud of themselves and so grown up...like the big kids. I just loved those years of watching them become who they are. Except a few of their teenage years.
DS3> the one visiting with his sweet GF, made sourdough whole wheat pancakes this morning. Great success! He likes the whole fermentation process (since I bought him a book a few years ago) and loves to make food using different techniques that require fermentation. We were the lucky recipients this a.m. The borscht last night was made with fermented beets and cabbage. He wheedled until I finally tasted it (I loathe beets!) and it was actually very good. I was just shocked that I like it!
My 30yr old DD3 is the bridesmaid at yet another wedding. She has had countless bridesmaid dresses.
She still has not found the one (her very own hunk). I think she's beginning to get discouraged. Poor baby!
Hallelujah the new garden finally got planted!
DS3 helped DS2( Aspergers and lives with us) plant the seedlings...if you could still call them that. *sigh* Leggy little beasts is more like it!
It looks fantastic and DS2 is happy. He had taken 5 years to get the area to his liking (Aspergers can be interesting to watch in action) but just could not pull the trigger to do the planting. DS3 is fantastic with him so they figured it and and got it done. DS2 is feeling very pleased.
Sweet GF is slightly amazed at how little there is to do in this Western town. They went to a club last which had two dress requirements...no hats and no guns. And I am not kidding. She was surprised when they searched her purse.:o
Bio-diesel! You've got yourself a smart one there Pips!
What are his next plans now?Overprepare, then go with the flow.

We are going back to Albuquerque (4 1/2 hr drive) on Saturday. DH finally got an appt for Monday morning to have his knee evaluated. Probably looking at a knee replacement.
His Bday is Sunday so it will be nice as we are staying with my daughter, SIL and my gorgeous, smart etc etctwo yr old GD....the one and only grandchild. We will get to see her go under water at the swimming pool. (Latest milestone) Her BDay party was last wknd and so as she loves parties it should be fun to have one for OH. :j

Have fun Mila.
Oven is on - a few scones perhaps. They're quick and easy.
Lovely evening last night munching grub and beach walks.
I must do an invoice for work. I don't think I've been paid from garden either.
Must investigate.

Morning All - ok - maybe that should be afternoon!
A weird day here all round - slept in! (ok - only until 7 but that's better than the usual 5:40)
Breakfast was leftover pastries & hobbit breakfast leftover hotdogs...:D
It's a 4 day b-day weekend, but instead of exploring Barcelona, I'm doing the much neglected budget & OH is arranging the funeral of an estranged sibling. Weird weird weird all round...
Been pottering in the garden & doing laundry & tidying...
Everything in 15 mins chunks...
It's gloriously sunny but a cool breeze blowing through so the house is getting a good airing...
Who knows we might even scoot over to the gym this afternoon & work off some of those pastry calories:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So in serch of normality we have done a few b-dayish things!
Thursday evening (our usual 'date' night) we went out for Lebanese food - they make fresh pitta bread in a wood-fire oven & the falafel are light & airy - kibbeh (posh meatballs) were flavoured so nicely that I could have made a meal of them! There was houmous, baba ganoush, tabouleh, stuffed vine leaves, fatayer (spinach in pastry) & that was followed by a mixed grill platter. Soooooo yummy!:D
Last night we had take-away - Greek salad, pork souvlaki & greek pita - OH had chips on the side.:)
Today was a trip to the garden cetre for afternoon tea & cakes - followed by some salavating at the garden shop. A nice planter with all things pink in it may have made it's way home...:o
MSE-wise I've been shuffling money around & trying to balance to books. It's a work in progress.
OH shopped around for the best funeral deal - didn't go with the cheapest as they seemed dodgy but went with c0-0p as they were the next best. I must be rubbing off on him as he'd have never shopped round in years gone by!
So you see all in all a normal weekend - food & MSE :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Tonight it will be bargain hamburgers from the freezer! I think we've had enough treats!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
