  • Not much to report these parts. Banks booted me out earlier.
I emailed a cc I have and asked for a better deal so I guess I'd better phone them on the number i gave eh?

No post. Do have someone coming about solar panels this week.

Anyone any experience with them. We might get both types, for electric and at least one panel for hot water as its our biggest oil expense.

We're looking to buy outright, so payback is important to us. We're in a sunny region (who knew this year)

So any thoughts be glad to hear them.

  • Good morning lands.

I'm thinking. Here's me 'thinking' that aside butter and milk we NEED no shopping this week. As its the last week of the calendar month I thought I might set myself a NO SHOP CHALLENGE this week.

Not added up the spends recently will do that later (my housekeeping money hits the account on the 21st) but I wondered if I could go til the end of the month with no shopping aside essential fresh like milk, butter, fruit.

We have loads of veg and teas and stuff in.

Teas - loads of fish/meat/eggs etc in

Veg - you name it we have it :)

Fruit wise we have one pineapple, a peach, an orange, handful of cherries and a kiwi and two plums, handful of grapes.

Whilst that fruit probably won't last the week (but it might?) its only for me, DH is having some investigations done and he can't eat fruit for a while.

We have one litre of milk left and 250g of butter.

    We will need milk.

Don't have any tatties but I see my earlies are flowering.......

    Stores are heaving too.

So can I do a no shopping week challenge.

Guess if I do a meal plan, might fathom it..................

If anyone can do it pippity-pips, you can! :j :j Sounds like a veritable feast you've got there :j :j

Hope DH's ok with his investigations x
  • Cheery my darling girl you always make me giggle. :) thank you lovely.

I'm such a serial bargain hunter, I caught myself thinking, just need to switch on the other freezer then I'll have more room for bread/bargains. When actually what I should be doing is switching the freezer on for the veg we've got sprawling all over the garden.....

He's got either Chrones or IBS or something similar. They're asking him to keep off fruit for a bit and see if that helps.

All the more for me :D

Hope your weekend is shaping up nicely.

DH is going biking and I've spied 14 pallets outside the ironmongers, I'll leave them for a bit and see what's left later and take a few, might get another log store built from free wood.

Also need to do some chopping up as I've a stack of stuff to chop before I bring new stuff in.

    :)

Having a late brunchy breakfast here which will also mean no grub til tea time. Have a few fishy bits to use up so might do a bit of 'sushi' for tea, do have rice and its easy to have done and put together later when himself comes home war torn.

Aside that today grass to cut, freezer to wipe out before I switch it on. Courgettes/peas/spinach going mental. So picking and freezing some of that would be a grand idea.

I'm using up the courgettes in stews/sauces so I'll chop them up first if I can be fangled. Otherwise might lob them in whole, but they might not be so usable like that. Also need to start the 'red canon ball' drawer, as the tomatoes begin to come ready.....more sauces for free in the winter yum yum.

Apple tree is heaving too. As is the rowan. Perhaps a bit of apple/rowan jelly.......

    Ponder ponder.

  • dd's car failed mot - several points. Will hear on Monday how much.

She's got it sold if we can nudge it through, but if those wee things add up she's goosed.

  • Thanks cheery - we'll see, its an older car her dad got her and she's decided she just doesn't use it to justify paying for it herself.....

Nice day with Mr Me a treat of lunch out and some lovely coastal walking.

Indulged in a hot choc in a local chocolate cafe.......

Some of us more than indulged.......!!

  • Morning lands.

Up after a night of thunder lightening and torrential rain.

Sunny now, this weather is crazy.

Sleepy start here but washing done and d/w on.

    Flylady mission today.

Is to have a couple of hours to ourselves - maybe watch a movie.

Sure I can manage that later.

    Survived yesterday with no spends.

    YAY!!

Grass needs cut but i'm still covered in bug bites, not keen to go out there and play.

Might head to the beach for a stroll.

Need to do banks and update work spreadsheet.

23-24 hours done at garden, 7 at womble land.
