Hey there well your plants perhaps were'nt troupers of the keenest nature if they expired were they.
And there is lots of lovley positives there isn't there. Ladies mantle is the plant you're calling lovely and green.I hope you have a great day cheery.
I'm in to work later. I've been and had my 'chat' which amounted to 'we like you but we can't afford you permanently'
So I've been offered no contract and 4 days a week for a few months to tide them over the permanent silly girls leaving, whilst they adjust to whatever they adjust to. Then reduce down to one or two days not sure what that means longer term. I guess then we're into snowdrop season again.
Future doesn't seem offer anything permanent nor does it offer unemployment with them just an ad hoc kind of an arrangement. although we've only talked over the next few months, her longer term strategy doesn't involve a replacement for silly girls post. So doesn't look like there is one.
Whilst I should have thrown a strop and done the whole 'do you know who I am' hair flick, that's really not my style. (although tempting)
So I need to do some real thinking about what I want from life and working.
Like starnac said, like a list.
Whilst I have an interview for the LA, its full time out of the house at 7am back at 7pm kind of a job, nowt wrong with that, but I'm not sure if that's really how I want to live.
Work-life-balance and all that.
I enjoy my job, the place in the garden is beautiful and the folks are lovely (ish) its inspiring, if hard work and carp working conditions.
Its near to home and maybe only a few days a week really do suit me, although some recognition for my skills (which I think there are) and some greater permanency would be a bit more settling.
Mumble mumble mumble.

Finding the balance is really difficult.
Not sure LA is the one for you either.

Oh that *is* vexing Pippi! Grr - must be SO annoying not having your skills recognised - stupid them. I don't know what I want to be when I grow up either
Lots of things I like about my job, but I can never decide whether to stay, try to progress up the career ladder (in what direction?!) or jack it all in and apply for the part time job in the cafe round the corner and live on leftover beans. Too many decisions!
Sometimes wish someone would tell us what to do - but then I'm not entirely sure I'd like that either :rotfl:
Good luck with the interview - no prospect of doig part time? I'm out 7-7 just 2 days a week and that's plenty!0 -

Their lack of recognition doesn't define you - if you like working there, perhaps you could see it as just part of your portfolio, and try to get some additional self employed / consultancy work to get more money in? Even if just a few hours here and there? Thinking of a pal who is a gardening guru type and does just this, having given up a horticultural lecturing post.... Lots of posh houses round here though with owners who can pay for his services. He does talks to local gardening societies, WI and other groups, and he generally gets paid for this as well!
Unless you love the idea of the 7 - 7 job once you have the interview?0 -

Dawn I think maybe that's it, I like the work, its fun, I'm teaching students/volunteers everyday as part of my post although its not structured it's passing it on.the staff are lovely and the place has a lovely buzz. And I'm learning loads.
Its the way folks are treated which really irks at me. Like napkins of the paper variety.
There is a recognition of my lack of affordability which I guess is a sort of tip of the hat to my skills. :rotfl:
Money wise the ups and downs are annoying, I do have womble land guaranteed for one more year at one day a week, so if I could stop panicking and work out exactly what I need to work, that might be a good way to calm the nerves.
Friend sounds like he has it sussed, one of the ladies which helps out in the busy times does similar things, so I'm making good contacts.
I'm still in the OMG I lost a days pay, argh I need the money, and I do but its bigger picture money (kids/pension etc) rather than eating money, IYSWIM. So having an idea of my yearly 'need' and working that into a plan might be useful - ponders thank you!
Thank you, I am also thinking go to the other interview and see how it goes/what I think of the place.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Of course OH thinks I should just set up as the Sarah Rvaen or Alys Flowers of oop north, lol. A wee cottage industry. But, I'd need that balanced with some human interaction.
Beanie thank you for sharing the flat on the book of face - its looking really good, despite my paint splattered self.much appreciate lovely.
I think I'd suit being on a bin lorry more than a power suit :PTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Living on left over beans would be lovely cheery. But, I'm afraid I also like going on my holidays but I know what you mean.
Its a nice place, if I can go with the flow a bit more, perhaps I could relax more and just enjoy. I'm so bad at 'future tripping'.
Although knowing what I might be working next week might be useful. :rotfl:
I think if someone told us what to do we'd tie them up and feed them stale cake!
Thank you for understanding, had a long chat with our resident red arras photographer, which was helpful.
I don't mind flexible and self employed, I do somewhat smart at filling in a time sheet when I'm not staff........Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Thanks Lady. No interest yet but we're hopeful, everything is online so its difficult to know if anyones interested. But, then again everything is online and accessible so its easier for interested folks to get what they need.
Home report was good after some minor building investigation which turned up nowt.
