Tea was a healthy combo of recycled mince (bagged up last week by DS) cooked by recycled wood decking acquired from a chum
Savers pasta cheapest in Aldi at 20p a half kilo compared to 35p in the major big boys.

Two veg beds dug must get them really prepared and planted later.
Two sleeping dugs here, must get them up and out for a walk later too
Off in a bit with DS to driving, DD is somewhere between here and Auz
Must do a bit of money stuff and a fridge audit and maybe a tiny shopping list.
So far I know we need
Dug fud
Butter
But likely there will be more.........although I'm home alone next week for most of it, ones away for work, the other for fun.
So its a moderated meal plan
Fri - potentially 3 (MIL visiting)
Sat - I'm out, they're in something easy
Sun - 3
Mon - I think I'm out with himself for a work thing/stayover, DS home
Tues - Me
Wed - Me, chum and chums DD for a sleepover
Thurs - Me (?DS back)
Fri - they all return
Enough tea last night to sneak out a portion for himselfs lunch today.
All good.

Shame about the job Pips
But if they've offered you an application for another one they must have liked you :j :j Will you apply?
Well done on the bargains! :money: None here, as usual :rotfl:0 -
Hey cheery thank you.
I've got a 'feedback' call today and the man suggested I apply for this more technical role, we'll see eh.
Mince was half price, the rest of the reductions to be honest were little more than 20-30p off which is better than a slap in the face with a wet fish, but not great really.
I stalked a garden centre and didn't buy anything, now that's progress just came away with a lot of ideas (mainly of things I don't like lol, but its interesting to go and see)

Had my first play in the new garden today - weeding galore & trimming up an invasive plant so that it was more contained - also did up a large pot with lupins in the middle and a variety of coleus called chocolate covered cherry around the edges! Have decided this garden needs to be a riot of colour!
There are too many bunnies from the farmer's field to even attempt a kitchen garden with herbs, though there is a patch of mint already thriving & I might get a couple of potted bay trees or bushes. Have a few sprouting onions and potatoes that may need to be chucked in a pot just to see what they yield - last year's garlic experiment netted some small but potent bulbs!
Hope you are having a good day at work!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 8 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 16 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!0 -
Sounds perfect RT!!
Wonderful to hear you so in love with your patch.
Goodluck!!
Busy day here.
Application to get in for tomorrow, as I typed the garden lady offered me 4 or 5 days a week, no contract, no long term plan, just until they sort out what they're up to. And whilst my hours have been cut to 14, can I come in and weed.
As a RHS garden, sometimes I wonder as flagships for the industry, why they treat sub-contractors like me, non-staff like disposible items.
I can't decide whether to be excited at prospect of more work for a bit, or annoyed that I'm still in limbo land.
But I don't know what I'd like either.
Will finish full-time application with council.
Excuse the grump.
Gardens looking grand. Got a veg square in today, tomatoes, onions, calendula, courgettes and basil. Here's hoping for a good summer.
