Fingers crossed pips! :j :j Hope worky stuff gets sorted soon xx
  • Yeah me too cheery - losing £100 a week isn't fun, neither is no contract after being with them for 6 months now. I don't mind being flexible but I've commitments which are hard to meet if things are so changeable.

Longer term it might change but for now, its becoming a bit annoying.

There is a re-advertising a different job which I'd thought about applying for then didn't, so I might think about that. OK so its probably interesting but office based, more hours than I'd like and more pay (by 10k a year), paid holidays and pension.

When you say it like that sounds like a no-brainer eh.

    Yeah beanie, I know.

That's exactly what I've been thinking over and over and over.

My garden makes my soul sing and I'm hardly in it at the moment.

I'm truly wondering if I can balance a largely weekend work situation for just about minimum wage, no paid holidays and no pension, with life at home and the financial help the kids continue to need.

I love the job I'm doing but my sensible head keeps telling me that whilst I do love it, maybe its not fulfilling all the things in life I need. And, I'm working for practically the same money I was when I worked in a supermarket.

OK so theres nothing wrong with that, nowt at all, but somehow or other I need some balance.

This is something to think about eh.

At least if I apply for a few things and then I can also talk to work about my future there, and what the options are. Just now I think I'm near and easy.

    Always easy me!

    Hey Beanie well done.

I'm just battling an ex-husband who has stated they don't need to work at uni. And, announces that I have half to pay, etc etc. Its a minefield.

Not exactly an even playing field, so I'm not better, you're ace, I'm just defeated sometimes. But to be fair DS hasn't had anything this year and DD not much, but going into fourth year, that might change......

    Evening Pips!

Sending hugs your way to help with the job/life balance! Don't forget to take some time just for your very own self!

Glad to hear there is movement on ditching the flat! Progress is always so rewarding!

A bitty dinner had chez nous - that reduced cheese & some tiny pork pies - continental deli meats - reduced bread & bits from the fridge/storecupboard - cucs, toms, lettuce, carrot, gerkins, olives, berries & butter - Cost us under a pound a head & filled us to bursting.

Best bit? - Leftovers! - enough to do it again tomorrow - I'm loving no cook dinners!

House?...well those lost thoughts from a while back should probably stay a bit lost for the moment as the country life is, um, well, shall we just call it an adjustment for this city mouse!:o
