Just made your flat bread recipe and you are right, very quick and easy, and delicious too. A real barbecue hit.

  • Waves to all i'm X_HAUSTED.

This gardening and life malarkay is pretty full on.

Hope you've all had a lovely day.

RT your garden sounds just blissful! I love that kind of approach and apply it often myself. :D

M21 - hello I hope all is well in your lands.

TDQ how fabby its from !!!!!! Strawbridges book - I'm so glad you liked them, I can honestly say I'd now rather eat mine than a shop bought one and I lvoe flatbreads. And, at under 10p a go - they're a keeper!

Caz hows the bite (must pop over and see) They may well germinate I'm sure the ones in the ground were likely scoffed by a wee fiend. Hope you had some sunshine today.

    :)

So morning - grass cutting, edging, pondering and plotting as I'm reducing the grass here by 2/3rds - I am not a fan of grass its a monocrop and aside a few stalks for cows/chooks its largely inedible so its largely going. I think I've a shape I like now :) The rest will be the veggie plot. The remainder will feed the hens and allow me to lol and squish my toes in grassygoodness.

Afternoon enquired about some voluntary work at the botanic garden, all helps and bought some plants (took £20 budget spent £13) we came home with

    Thyme x 3
Alpine Strawbs (to add to Wiks lovely parcel) x 3
Some bedding x 2 trays (£1 each, bargain)
Cobea scandens (cup and saucer vine) x 2
    Cerinthe major x 5
Dalias (OH's choice - bright red) he's a 'colourful kinda chap'

A neighbour dropped me some lobiela off for free :)

So today I've done some weeding, visited a garden, cut some grass, tidied up a bit and gone for a bit of reduced nosh shopping. Our local COUP has a great reduced bread section so todays additions were

    Baggettes (mini's 4) x 3 - 19p each bag
    Sour dough - 30p

Dinner was spag bog from reduced mince from a cook a while ago, reduced cheese, bread and value pasta :) we know how to live.

Lunch was a bitsa use up and the remainders is boxed for OH's lunch.

Plumber comes on Tues to fit the boiler - nearly 2k's difference on prices between the 4 we asked for quotes. We've gone with a young new business with a great reputation and good service/aftercare package.

    :D

Did I say we had a bookcase (now a dvd storage case) delivered and they managed to get it through the window (open).

Neighbours did have a good look at that!

Houndlings well beached and walked this weekend.

Overall, a fine productive and 'chilled' weekend.

Grocery spends of £18 for himself's bbq but lots of grub in freezer too from that.

    Today - £4.14 spent.

So 22.14 to add to the spends (22.14+68.95 = £91.19/100). We're pretty much done on the spending for June I think. A wee bit of wriggle room for bargains but not much.

    :)

  • By the way and don't laugh.

I've been laungushly using up the leftover cleaning and buffing products in this hoose left by the last owners (for the house dear heart NOT for buffing up DH). Ahem, minds out the gutter.

Anyhows - the 'polish and no smear posho brando' is done and I'd thought long and hard. Spied some stardrops in Mr M and bought a bottle.

A wee dod of that and some water, in the posho-brando bottle and gave that a go on the tables.

Dear hearts, its just so better when you use stardrops and that seems to go for 'posho-brando' as well. Stardrops is just better.

I'm not sure how eco-friendly the land of stardrops are. But I did find this info sheet so I've sent it to a tame chemist, who'll likely tell me more than.....

    12 ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
    ECOTOXICITY
Not regarded as dangerous for the environment.

Anyway in the mean time I'll be using my posho-brand bottle with me magic liquid in it. Not bought any drops yet as was using up before I bought any new cleaning products.

    Made me giggle.

    :)

    Beware - Lurker alert:eek:

I am so envious of you having Cerinthe major x 5, I only "met" this wonderful plant this Spring for the first time, and fell in love:D, the only problem is that although I tracked down plants and seeds, I don't think that I can shoehorn any into the borders ATM:(. Next Spring perhaps when I have moved a few things to more suitable locations (either my understanding of metric measurements is sorely lacking or some of the plants have taken on triffid proportions this year:rotfl:)

Getting sorted slowly, came back from 2 lovely weeks in Tunisia with DD to move the next day to temp accomodation while the builders worked their magic... what was estimated as a 3 day job - turned into 2 weeks........ and they havent done the decorating right, its a mess - it looks like theres more paint on floors, doors, windows than the kitchen,

You can always tell an insurance job!!!

Thou have to say our accomodation was amazing, we booked into a static caravan about 15 miles from where we live, on a big site, 4 statics, camping and caravaning and a seperate private owners caravans, club, pool, - it was amazing, we were so lucky that the accomodation was free as we had to keep extending.

Wish me luck as i have the ins company, the claims handler for builders and in theory the builders all ringing tomorrow to rectify the probs.

We were offered hotel accomodation we were going to stay in Holiday inn - we found the caravan saved the insurers some money as Holiday Inn would have been over 2k... the caravan came in at £750 (would have been cheaper as 1 booking not the 3 extentions) xx

If anyone venturers Shropshire area - can highly recommend Lower Lacon Caravan and Camping Park, (in Wem) xx

I just love it its one of my favourite plants - for those of you who want a snoop here's some bonnie Cerinthe (also known as honeywort and the bees go nuts for it)

Once you've got it, it happily self seeds itself. I'm not great at 'portions' either in gardens, my eyes are always bigger my border :rotfl:

    Thanks for saying hello

Lovely recommendation so nice when you find somewhere nice to stay even if the circumstances were not great.
