Code Is your heating on too high?

Oh, just remembered, I think, you don't like rooms too hot? Was that you whose workmates have the heating up too high?

Typical! I am sure we have the best (matter of opinion) weather in the country this year. Everyone puff on the storm clouds and send them south! I'll take your bad weather!
    .
Much as I love looking at snow, and don't mind wrapping up warm etc., these days snow scares me. I have a couple of damaged joints and I'm terrified of slipping/falling I case I break them as the bone in them is cystic and so really weak.
I have thick-soled boots, and spiky gripper things, and walking poles with spiky ends, but am still scared of slipping, so it takes all the pleasure out of going out as I daren't walk at my usual fast speed.

Then there's driving. The main roads might get gritted, but the side roads/small rural roads never are, so it's all rather worrying, and I have to weigh up whether to go to or miss classes. There was one time when I drove to a class, and was creeping down a side road. Came to a crossroads where I had to give way. Gently braked and nothing happened......coasted straight across the junction. Luckily nothing was coming the other way, but it scared me to death. I hadn't braked hard or anything and was only doing about 5mph! The road was pure ice!

When I worked, I have horrendous memories of 130-mile motorway journeys in blizzards, ice and snow, and as I was self-employed, if I didn't work, I didn't earn!

But, if I don't have to go anywhere, it's lovely to look at! :D

  • Eeeeeep! That's scary, Pyxis! As I don't go out I love snow, I may feel a little different if I had to walk in it! The closest I get to it is WaSp creeping in the door with snowballs and throwing them at me!

Rain, however I love going out in. I like getting wet, I'm odd.

Rain I don't mind. I have a very good, completely waterproof long length coat with a hood and it's roomy enough to wear thick warm clothes underneath in winter.
It's great and keeps me bone dry, ( well, apart from my ankles!), providing I don't have too many hot shops to go into, as then I end up as wet on the inside as on the outside! Completely waterproof coats are not forgiving when you get hot!

  • I danced naked in the woods in the rain once back in my Wicca days. TMI?

  • Hahahahahaha! It was 4am, so I wasn't in danger of being seen. There may also have been a bottle of wine involved.

So, WaS, are you a fully qualified witch?

Do you know, you never cease to amaze me! You've done so many things!
You really, really have to write that autobiography, you know!

OR! You could get Code to be your official Biographer, Your Maj!

  • Yes! I was Wiccan for a few years, but then again I was also Buddhist for a few years, too. I suppose my life has been more interesting than I think it has, I look back and find it quite dull!

Hahahahaha! Want to write a book, code? I have 76,000 words of transcribed diaries to start you off? No pressure! *giggle*

WaS, I would love to read your stories. You are fabulous. Not sure if I could do them justice though. You write so well.

Pyxis, my heating isn't on at all atm. My office is a constant fight between the two people with window seats who never want the window open and like it hotter than the tropics, one menopausal woman who has a fan on at all times and the rest of us who would ocassionally wish for some fresh air. Where did you get your waterproof? I feel I may need some waterproof dog walking clothes.
