Do you think that's why you are drawn to dogs that you cannot get too control freak over? I certainly think if I had something like a gun dog or some of the utilities it would be negative for me and the dogs.
    !

I've never thought of it like that before - as a rule I don't tend to analyse myself that much. I think maybe I just like dogs that are as stubborn as I am, and know their own minds. Even if it frustrates the life out of me. But yes, a dog that did what I said all the time I'd just find over intense and creepy.
I've just got back from doing a practice for our display on Sunday. All the other dogs were doing ok and Gitdog was rolling round on the grass eating cowshit. :rotfl: If I ever start to get up myself, he'll soon put me straight. Perhaps I should start thinking of him as a necessary self correction to my authoritarian tendencies instead of an attention seeking PITA.

Edit - note to WaS, I can get very boring once I get onto the subject of my dogs, please feel free to tell me to shut up! Although while we're on the subject, are you a cat person, dog person, something else or nothing at all?

I've never commented on you dog threads but I think they have sounded wonderful. I think he sounds just super match for you and, like you, I like dogs that remind me not to take myself to seriously.

Especially because part of my portfolio career was with animals / is with animals I like having animals that remind me .....you ain't all that love, because people get very obsessed with themselves and their doctrines. For me, my achievements were what they were, my animals are who they are. The 'oi' thing grates a bit though. :D

My dog answered to "oi" too. But then again, so did the kids :rotfl:

There's a thread in the moneysaver's arms bit of the forum at the moment which I've put a picture of Gitdog on, if you're interested. He is a good looking boy, (for a bull terrier.)

A marriage can take place in:-

    .......
the home of one of the partners if the partner is housebound or detained, for example, in prison

    Maybe?

wooooo! This does make total sense, and I'm so glad you've found it! :T xxx

  • He is adorable! I have a soft spot for english bull terriers. My friend had one at university and the first time I visited her house he leapt up on my lap and licked all over my face, despite her yelling at him to get down. He had me pinned to the chair but I thought he was wonderful!

Wow, haven't you all been a hive of industry, freeing vases from cupboards to new adventures, omega oil discussion, wedding dresses and figuring out how (if) they can happen at home and the lovely Gitdog not to mention LiR doggy siblings making an appearance :D

Whitewing, thank you for posting the article, I will have a proper read when I have more time, the quotes are thought provoking and I too maybe applying a new mantra to my life too! DUKE that's lovely.

I was enjoying a drink in the garden tonight with my friend and could smell the lavender on the breeze and hear the bees lazily buzzing, I thought of you WaS and was really pleased to catch up that you had been people watching a little today. I too live near a temple and love the beautiful colours that are worn. I would love to work out a way of wearing a sari or similar without feeling self conscious or silly or worrying I might offend someone. There is also a church up the road and to see the African ladies wearing the beautiful bright and bold patterns and dresses and hats on a Sunday is an uplifting sight. :)

Well done JM that is awesome, hope it helps WaS when she needs a boost.

I would love to wear a sari, oldestgnome. Some of the ones I see the women wearing here are so beautiful with amazing embroidery, glitter and jewels. It was a special occasion of some kind today as they were all carrying trays of food and the clothes were even more glamorous than usual.

Thank you for all the wedding links! I have to say I am tempted...
