  • Hahahahaha I love it, MU! I am having a little coffee liqueur in my coffee, I figure that I can have a tiny drink as it is my birthday. This was my birthday present from WaSp along with a pair of snuggly socks that have half a panda on both sides and when I put my feet together they make a whole panda face!

When I was 12 my dad had a cardiac arrest on my birthday. I didn't know what to feel because it was meant to be a happy day but I was so worried. I felt then as I feel now. My dad died on my 13th birthday, please don't let this repeat with MIL, she can't leave us yet. This isn't anything to do with me, is it? I am not thinking about my feelings, what is important right now is WaSp and MIL but it feels like history repeating itself and the fact it is my birthday is significant. I know it is silly to think that I have caused this to happen and am hanging onto that as much as I can.

WaSp is trying to be jolly and make me laugh, my heart totally goes out to him and he doesn't have to do this. I know how worried he is.

Happy birthday Was :A So sorry To hear about your Mother in law.Of course it is just co-incidence that it is your birthday they happen more than you think. My Grandad,,Mum,and husband all died on the same day,my mum was exactly the same age as her dad too, so tell that to the stupid voices and also tell them there is so many loving thoughts and wishes coming from this thread from people that know you are a kind and lovely lady that they are definitely wrong.

On a more serious note, I'm sorry to hear about MiL and I hope that things go well for her, and for you and WaSp in dealing with everything surrounding her illness.

HahahahahaI I love that so much, elsien! Gitdog looks adorable!

We can relax a little, MIL is comfortable. The doctors believe that it is some kind of food poisoning. Now, really trying not to pass judgement here. BIL called and said he had remembered that he left a packet of cat flea pills on the kitchen table near MIL's pills. She is almost blind. He went to her house today and the pill packet is open and 4 are gone so she either gave her cat several pills (why would she do that when only one is needed and she can't see to do it?) or she took them thinking that they were her pills. BIL asked if he thinks we should mention it to the hospital because it will make him look like an idiot, WaSp said get off the phone and do it right now.

But she is comfortable and being given fluids so that is something. We feel a little happier. WaSp spoke breifly to her on the phone and she said I am not to worry, have a good birthday evening and she has a present at her house for me which WaSp needs to go and pick up! She also told him off for not buying me flowers. She has some fight left in her yet!

That's good news that she's still got her fight in her.
Maybe it would be safer from here on in to get her meds put up into those daily dispensing packs by the pharmacy?

  • I think so, elsien. She really can't tell one packet from another, her eyesight is far too bad. Hopefully now BIL has hopefully told the hospital they can check to see whether that is what happened and work out her to make her better.
