When I was 12 my dad had a cardiac arrest on my birthday. I didn't know what to feel because it was meant to be a happy day but I was so worried. I felt then as I feel now. My dad died on my 13th birthday, please don't let this repeat with MIL, she can't leave us yet. This isn't anything to do with me, is it? I am not thinking about my feelings, what is important right now is WaSp and MIL but it feels like history repeating itself and the fact it is my birthday is significant. I know it is silly to think that I have caused this to happen and am hanging onto that as much as I can.

WaSp is trying to be jolly and make me laugh, my heart totally goes out to him and he doesn't have to do this. I know how worried he is.

  • IT IS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU - you can't affect the day someone dies. Enormous hugs (((((((((((((((()))))))))))))
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
  • No, WaS, just a horrible co-incidence.This is not your fault! Bad things happen and it is always somebody's birthday.

Whether it is her time or not, she knows how much you care for her and appreciates the effort you made to visit her. We're all sending positive thoughts to all three of you.

Thank you, I know that is ridiculous to think it is because of me but the voices are saying that I am a curse. I know they lie so I am throwing some rather rude words at them!

Thank you for thinking of us and the hugs, all we can do is wait now to hear from the hospital.

It's definitely not your fault WaS. I hope your mil makes a swift recovery, but if she doesn't, its just an unfortunate coincidence. You're not a curse. There's no such thing.

  • Thank you, Code. The voices need to shut up!

We just had an already drunk BIL on the phone saying everything is on his shoulders and "Ma is dying and I have to cope while you and WaS have a birthday party" WaSp put the phone down on him and I don't blame him at all.

People behave like prats when someone is ill and they are worried. Don't worry about BIL's opinion.

You are allowed to enjoy your birthday at the times that you can ie between calls from WaSp etc.

Nothing that you don't do or do do is going to impact what happens with MIL. It isn't your fault.

What a horrible man he is :(

It's definitely not your fault WaS, just a sad coincidence.Tell those voices to go and take a running jump.
Whatever happens now with MIL I hope you are very proud of your recent visit to her, that obviously meant so much to her.

Thank you, whitewing and dibuzz. We thought BIL was at the hospital with her but he is apparently on his way now because he wanted to pick up "A few cans for the journey". He was apparently in the pub rather than with her, he was meant to stay last night while WaSp was with me because it was my birthday but she spent the night alone. We are so glad she had a panic button. We are really hoping that he doesn't make an idiot of himself at the hospital. He is the least of our worries though, it's MIL that's important. I am so glad I visited her.

WaS yor BIL is a total richardhead. Ignore him. Give Sir P a hug and then we'll talk to you some more.

    Ok?
