Lir - hope you're ok. Big hugs.
whitewing - I know I don't have any of my own but I used to take family kids for injections because I am relaxed around needles and what worked for most of them was to explain in great detail what is going to happen (the doctor/nurse will take a needle and put it in your arm. It's going to hurt a wee bit but only for a second, and they will take some blood and you can watch it if you like, then after we'll have a treat type of thing). Didn't work with all of them - one of them got really worked up and kicked the doctor in the face.:rotfl: Hope the results are ok and littlewing is fine.
I'm considering going to b&m bargains in my lunch break in search of wool. I've finished knitting my lucky scarf at last (so proud of myself) and am keen to crochet something now.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I'm working hard to stay on an even keel ATM. I'm not capsizing but in somewhat choppy waters. I feel its important for me to just get on with it ATM. I'm progressing ok like this.0

Hugs to you, LIR,
Littlewing will be pleased with her new username. I am obviously more heartless than you lot as I have already told her that her great-grandad used to say, mind the needle doesn't go all the way through the arm and out the other side! I have got a cuddly toy in my bag - she won't be expecting him so hopefully that will distract her.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. I lead an exciting life - in amongst my work today, I have been reading about excessive ear wax. Its function is partly to deter insects, which is why it 'tastes nasty'. How does anyone know what ear wax tastes like? Yuk.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. I remember discovering that fact as a very small child ! Mind you I was a child who ate and chewed everything.
I was a practice nurse many years ago and learned to syringe ears, you would be amazed at the gunk that some people have !! :eek:Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20 -
Good to see you popping in LiR, I was wondering how you were doing. Give the doggies a hug for us, and wishing you calmer shores soon.
Adding to the positivity from WaS having a successful outing, I have found out today I have a job interview first thing tomorrow morning. Nothing like a bit of preparation time when you've ever so slightly overstated your knowledge on the application forms. Google here I come.:o (In my defence, I was expecting a little longer to get up to speed.)All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I would LOVE my ears syringed. They both get very gunky. But they cannot/ won't do it. One eardrum has been perforated in the past and they are worried about the other one with facial pain etc. I lose hearing quite a bit and hear the stuff squelching around every time I swallow or while I talk or move my jaw. Olive oil and massaging does nothing at all. Ear candle things have done nothing.
Its not a major thing but having clear ears would really be a nice thing0 -
Littlewing was a good as gold and didn't cry or whimper at all. She was happy with her sticker and bracelet that they gave her for being brave.
I didn't think of it but it helped that she has been to blood donors with me and it was a very similar procedure.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

You might like this,
We sent fir's 2 yo niece a moomin toy and two books for her birthday in the end. This weekend when face timing the kiwi jumped up onto fir's lap and niece across the room at that point, ran over staying 'moomin, moomin'. Somewhere in her little mind she'll be thinking we sent the books because kiwi is a moomin not a dog as we've been saying over face time all this time.
She might be coming to visit in spring. I wonder what she'll think of him in real life. She loves cats, so we are on safe ground there. Her parents aren't animal people like we are.0
