  • Hello haybel! Oh, penguins! Now that is really tempting! I wonder a)If I could save enough to do it and b)If I could cope with people? That could be a future goal...

WaS! WaS! WaS! There's a Meet a Tapir at the Cotswold Wildlife Park!

Also. Don't know if you noticed, but one of the penguin encounters has a two-for-one offer, so WaSp could do it too! Otherwise at Biristol Zoo, it's cheaper, but a second person can go as a spectator!

    WaS,

I can thoroughly recommend the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth, if you want a chance to get up close to animals. It's free.

    You could also volunteer:

    !

    Yes! I saw that!
    Interesting about their toilet habits!

Yes, WaS, have a lovely evening on the beach! Weather for there looks to be dry, if a bit cloudy, (so you may not see a moon,) with a temperature of about 16 degrees, although it'll probably be fresher right by the sea!

You must write " Hello Team WaS!" In the sand, with a wiggly wave and a smiley! :)

WaS will you be able to have a paddle in the sea? Hope you have a great time.

So the co-worker situation I mentioned before remains confusing. Was definitely getting mixed vibes today so I don't know if said coworker likes me or thinks I'm really irritating or if I'm just thinking too much (definitely the latter). I was trying to draw him into the conversation during a team lunch cause I don't like anyone to feel left out and I just kept hitting a brick wall and feeling like I was being annoying. I should let this one go, yes?

    What are sloths toilet habits?

Re the co-worker, well, you know him better than me, obviously, but I would say that if you kept hitting a brick wall, then it might be best to leave it. Just continue to be pleasant without engaging into long conversation, unless work dictates that you should.
Am I remembering correctly that he's an ex of yours? Or that there's some history? Might he think you're wanting to start things up again? If so, that might be why he's being a brick wall.
Sorry if I've got my wires crossed!

Re sloths' toilet habits, well, they only come down from the trees once every couple of weeks to urinate and defecate, and do so at the base of the tree., and then bury it. It's not known why, exactly, and there are two or three theories, but the most likely one is that they are very vulnerable on the ground; they can't walk or run, only crawl, and slowly at that, so their only defence is to (slowly) lash out, but even doing that expends a lot of energy.
If they let it all out from up in the tree, it would signal to predators that there's a sloth up there!

Another thing about sloths I didn't know is that they have an ecosystem living in their fur! Not parasites, but a mixture of symbiotes, including some algae that makes their fur have a greenish tinge and helps to camouflage them in the trees, and also supplies some nutrients to the sloth.
    Weirderoonie! :D

  • I love all of this sloth information, I want a cuddly sloth toy now!

We are leaving for the beach in an hour! I have a blanket ready and Sir Pugliet has his bucket and spade packed. We intend to pick up fish and chips and an ice cream and sit on the beach eating them and then I shall indeed paddle in the sea! I am very nervous but I hope that there won't be many people around, that stretch of beach is usually very quiet anyway. The journey to get there is more daunting than the actual visit. Wish me luck, we are taking the camera!
