Good Morning all! How lovely to log in to sloth's! I adore them, in fact my desktop pic is a baby sloth! That has cheered me up already!
I had a long talk with my american friend and braved telling her that I was afraid that she would forget about me, it turns out she has been worried that now I have this thread that I would forget about her! So we have both panicking about the same thing without reason, we feel silly now. We had a big heart to heart after that where I also discovered that she is having huge anxiety problems and feels that her anti-depressants are no longer working.
I have told her that she is welcome to post to this thread if she would like to, right now she is acting as if she is fine with everyone and feeling incredibly anxious underneath it all. She hid it from me by becoming distant because she didn't want to let me down (silly sausage!). So she may be joining us over the next few days because she really doesn't feel she can talk to anyone she already knows about this. Everyone has such high expectations of her that she is meeting, but it is at huge cost to her own well-being. I am rather worried about her.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Oh WaS! It just goes to show!
And all it took was for someone to make the first move.....and that someone was.......YOU!
You should be proud of yourself for tackling that!
But it's lovely, because you'll be closer than ever now!
Two silly sausages squeaking in the pan!
Have you decided on your beach night yet?(I just lurve spiders!)

Aw, thank you dibuzz. I did say that she would be made very welcome and she could get some support without anyone knowing what she was going through elsewhere. She has psychotic depression as I do so it is very important that she doesn't get too low, she is truly amazing to have crafted such a busy and professional lifestyle for herself but sometimes it gets too much. One of the problems she has is everyone thinks she has done so well that she is terrified of failing and letting everyone down now, even me! Everyone here would love her, though, she is very intelligent and very funny, we share a somewhat black humour.
Yes, we both feel silly now Pyxis. We have known each other for 15 years yet neither of us would tell our fears to the other. We need our heads banging together!
Beach is hopefully tomorrow night!

Well to quote WaSp as he summed it " I am glad we missed that car crash!"
BIL did indeed come to our town last Saturday with his girlfriend, he left his phone at home. They went for a drink and had an argument and were asked to leave the pub, she then stormed off home. He tried to find our address and couldn't and then was stopped by the police for wandering around the city centre with a can of beer (we have a no drink zone here). He searched a bit more on the wrong side of town and went to another pub. After a few drinks he went outside to smoke and the people on the door refused to let him back in because he was so drunk. He claimed age discrimination as it was a pub occupied by people younger than him and the police ended up being called to move him on. He then got the train home.
Just another day out for BIL. We had such a lucky escape...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
