    I'm in a clique! It's a clique of one! It's a unique clique!
    I love

  • I haven't heard of it before either! It sounds amazing, though!

You may all laugh but I am desperate to roll a cigarette. Not smoke one but actually making one, it's a habit just like actually smoking!

Have you got a worry stone? Or worry beads?

The TD icecream was just like eating a very cold Fry's TD! It was a bit too sweet for me, and had choc bits in, which I don't much like.
I'd been hoping it would have been more like a traditional TD

  • It sounds like I would love it! I adore any turkish delight in any form.

I am currently twirling my e-cig, who would have thought that I would miss the action of rolling them? I want to do that more than I actually want to smoke them!

Things I am grateful about today:

Saying yes, when I was asked to give a lift to a teenager. Just half an hour 3 times a week. I had very unhappy teenage years and so teenagers have scared me a bit as I don't feel I relate to them. But this 'chore' has turned into a real pleasure. She has been somewhat challenging in the last year, and it is great to see her getting her act together again and knowing that we're a small part of that.

DD's discovery of life. "Mum, what you laugh a lot, it makes you cry."

A garden that we walk past each morning. It's just a small square patch with a tiny apple tree. They have dug over the bare earth recently and there were some dropped apples on the ground. So autumnal, it made my heart soar.

WaS' comment about the course that made me chuckle. ..we've been doing about euthanasia.......I've only got 4 weeks left..

I have just read a snippet about the hoax experiment performed in 1973 by David Rosenhan.

Has anyone heard of this? I know it was a long time ago, and hopefully things are different now, but it's a bit worrying!

    I'll copy/paste it here:-

"Set in 1973 and organized by psychologist David Rosenhan, these experiments sought to answer whether professionals could accurately diagnose their patients’ psychiatric problems. In the first part of the experiment, Rosenhan and seven of his associates took on different personas that pretended to suffer from auditory hallucinations. They admitted themselves to psychiatric facilities across five US states. Prior to their confinement, Rosenhan instructed his fellow “pseudopatients” to behave normally once admitted and see whether the staff might discharge them accordingly. Group members spent an average of almost three weeks inside the facilities. During this time, even normal behavior such as writing (members wrote down their mostly negative experiences) came to be interpreted as an indication of mental illness. In the next phase of the experiment, Rosenhan divulged all details of the first phase to research hospital personnel, saying he planned to admit his pseudopatients into their facility. Their objective, said Rosenhan, was to expose the frauds. After the personnel identified those they believed to be Rosenhan’s subjects, the psychologist came forward and revealed that he’d never sent anyone. He ended his experiments with the conclusion that “it is clear that we cannot distinguish the sane from the insane.” "
