    Have a lovely time JM.

Pyxis, I have always wanted to be able to do a single eyebrow manoeuvre but I fail miserably when I try!!

Just been for my new claim appt at DWP. I am now a number in the systemrather than a name. I thought I was coping, but its really upset me, can't stop crying. No idea why I'm having such an extreme reaction, I could slap myself for being silly.

Yes there was a lamp. I think it was part of Picard's ancient artefact collection!

No, I don't speak Klingon. I prefer the more mellifluous tones of Italian! Anyway, there's a dearth of Klingon au-pairs on whom one may practice!
I can just about do the Vulcan greeting thing with the fingers, though, if I concentrate! Can't raise one eyebrow though, like Spock! Would love to be able to, as it can speak volumes!

    Ain't facial muscles wonderful! :D

I'd love to raise one eyebrow. Its funny how lovely Italian can sound. I love hearing fir natter away in Italian.

Don't feel silly. We are already a string of numbers though. Our NHs number, our in number, our bank account number/s, passport numbers.........this is just about her one. I bet you don't look at your self in the morning while brushing your teeth and think 'yes, passport number, its time to get that GIT dog out there for the walk of his life' or 'today, NI number, your going to show the world what you're made of, you are a in number of success'? No? Because you aren't those numbers. You are 'elsien'.

Work agreements - I promise I will look for jobs online, and get my wristd slapped if i dont. !!!!!! do they think I've been doing for the last month. And they lied to me about universal job match, but did I really expect any different. Aaarrggghh.
Ok, rant over, and breathe. Till the next time.

I love that, Pyxis! I am the first to admit that my worrying gets out of hand but I do like to be sure of all eventualities that might occur and it makes me feel safer to do so. Here's a funny one -whenever using hotel or public bathrooms I always move the lock in and out of the fitting several times before locking the door to make sure it works smoothly. I have a fear of being locked in the toilet!

Me too WaS! Sometimes I don't lock the door because of this, & I check to see if I could climb over or under if need be. I got locked in portaloo at work once, I was pushing instead of pulling. But not before I'd stood on the seat peered out of the window & shouted for help :rotfl: The lads on site where all standing there clapping & cheering as I emerged :o

Love it too Pyxis! I'll definitely be checking out the fire escape as I do worry should there be a fire, & often get claustrophobic thinking of it. Plus I was once worked at a place which burnt to the ground. I was first out of that building!

elsien, I was made redundant a few years ago and had to sign on and I still shudder about how that felt. I hated it. Its a horrible, degrading process.

Oh so sorry Duke! I didn't know! :( Are you ok? Are they far enough back in the thread, now, or would you like me to delete them?

How did Mr Duke's piano become famous? If it's not too revealing, that is.

Oh no, please don't delete the pianos Pyxis, I'm fine thanks.

Someone bought the piano from him then used it to create a number 1 hit.

Just skimming through, hope all's well with my WaSSers :D

Also, Elsien, remember that all the taxes you paid when working, the indirect taxes you paid and are still paying when you buy things, all that tax is to provide a buffer for people when they need it. That tax also pays for our schooling and our NHS, but I'm sure you thought of those two as your right? Well unemployment benefit is your right too, when you are unemployed.

But like everything else, it has to cater for the lowest common denominator, so everything is written in ultra-simplistic terminology, and the staff must get hardened by having to deal with the long-term unemployed.

I haven't had to sign on, but I did have to claim State Benefits for a few years, a long time ago, and I remember how it made me feel, so I do sympathise with you.

This jumper has a detachable snood, WaS. I thought this may give you some alternatives to the blanket for your hospital visit
