  • The other basic, cheap thing I know about is the fuel pump.....(assuming you haven't run out of juice lol)

    REALLY bad luck, though :(

Hopefully the mechanic can solve it without too many problems and the hire car isn't horrific!

Could you try leaving your mobile and kindle in another room, just to see what happens?
And any other electrical equipment, like TV, phone, etc.
    it may just help.
I don't have a tv in my room, I'm not sure where I could leave my mobile as I need it to wake me up (well I would if I was asleep but you can guarantee it would be the one night I was asleep when it went off)

dibuzz have you tried lying on your back, hands on stomach just below navel, then breath in 3, out 4? This actually works for me sometimes, but not all of the time. Before my counselor told me about this I used to lie all curled up, rigid, jaws clenched so tight, & I never even realised. I'm talking about sleeping in case anyone wondered, i just forgot to mention this :-/
Yes I've tried that and some of the guided meditation stuff.
    Hello SDW!

It's over! He meaured each room with a little infrared machine, checked the taps worked and the toilet flushed and tested a couple of skirting boards for dampness. His hunk rating was a good 8/10.

Much to my horror the incredibly letting agent decided to position himself next to me and look at my laptop screen and ask me what I was doing, I have paranoia problems! Hence while the surveyor did his job I ended up telling him all about Approved Foods and for some reason offered them both a brownie...

I am almost certain that I came across totally fine, very bubbly and happy indeed (yay for over-compensation), but otherwise I don't think I did anything weird. Shaking like a leaf now but it's over.

Oh, I also wasn't the only one who panicked. WaSp immediately and enthusiastically said "It's fine to come in, I am just washing up after lunch!" There wasn't a dirty plate to be seen. I asked him why said it afterwards and he said "I have no idea." Glad to know it isn't just me!
Sounds like you did very well there WaS :)

Lovely, hunky men on this thread! (Tell Harry he will fit in nicely, Duke!)

I have a training session tomorrow, so am still at work trying to finish up.

Need a cuppa; I have been talking all afternoon.

No old fashioned alarm clocks hiding anywhere?

Do you do a school run or work? What happens if you oversleep? Can someone else do your morning chores for the next few weeks?

No we don't have an alarm clock but I actually switch my phone off at night so there is no noise or light till the alarm switches it back on.

I get youngest son up at 5.30 or 6.30, depending where he's working then take eldest to the station at 7.30.youngest just cannot get himself up, we have tried.
Eldest could drive himself but we've just got used to me dropping him off then the car is there if I need it. No point me walking 3 miles to the doc's when his car is sat on a car park 15 mins drive away.

    I never oversleep :o

Dibuzz, what will happen when youngest wants to live independently? Or has a partner who works shifts?
