Good morning dibuzz! At least you got a few hours, I am sorry to hear about the dreams, though.
I had a weird one, too where a baby hippopotamus had been placed into a metal suit at a zoo to pretend it was a dinosaur. Everyone was standing around watching it, not knowing what was inside the suit. I could see through it and knew the baby couldn't stop swimming because it would drown under the weight and was desperately trying to think of a way to rescue it.
I have no idea other than it's me trying to stop something dying again...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

The other night I dreamed I was in the supermarket and suddenly realised I was naked.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140

Oops! That must have been an interesting shopping trip! I have never had a naked dream, I often dream that I have forgotten to put shoes on, though or randomly lost them while outside.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Or just having to keep going despite enormous obstacles and stress?
A bit like having to keep going no matter what. It's only when it's all over that they can allow themselves the 'luxury' of collapsing into a heap.
Good morning, WaS, Dibuzz, and anyone else!
Your dad was right though. Well, about the vegetables anyway! Cos anything that's got seeds in it is there only because it has to drop off!
And root veg are quite pleased to come out of the mud, have a good wash and then a nice, hot bath, and be appreciated instead of mouldering away underground, being eaten by slugs!(I just lurve spiders!)

Morning, Pyxis! Hahahahaha, he was! I am so glad that he took the time to tell me about how it is fine to eat food or I really could have ended up starving myself. I have kept the memory for always and think of it when I feel guilty about eating something which does still happen on occasion. He saved me (and himself) from years of eating anxiety.
On the subject of slugs I am the only person I know who adores them, they are just snails without their homes on their backs! I used to make WaSp leave the room where we lived before because I would put them on my arms and let them crawl on me before taking them safely to a plant. WaSp said it made him feel sick much to my amusement. Slugs get such a bad press but I shall defend them!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

WaS, you're a sibyl!
Look what I just this minute found on the "It's a Panda!" thread!
(By the way, it's a harmless thread you'd enjoy reading, about pandas and their various cubs being born around the world! You can find it on the Moneysavers' Arms forum).
A Swedish zoo has published pictures of its latest addition - a rare baby pygmy hippo that staff have already dubbed "Michelin Man" because of her appearance.
Olivia only weighed 6kg (13lb) when she was born a month ago in Parken Zoo, Eskilstuna
I don't feel so bad about my flabby, wrinkling tum , now!(I just lurve spiders!)

Awwww! How gorgeous! She is so cute and wrinkly! I could happily squish her for hours. How can you not love that little face? I shall check out the panda thread!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Here's another item for your birthday/Christmas list!

I remember Chris Packham saying that not all slugs decimate your plants and veg.
The huge black ones are actually harmless, eating rotting vegetation.
It's the smaller ones that wreak havoc.
There's a rhyme, I think it's this:
If it's black, put it back,
If it's grey, keep it at bay.
This link also has some interesting slug facts. For example, slugs are Gastropoda, which means 'stomach foot', which is basically all they are - a large foot with a stomach!

Aw, they have their own book! We used to get black slug visitors quite a lot. I always loved snails as child so it made perfect sense to me that slugs didn't have their houses with them, I never understood people's horror at seeing them. I had one in the house for a day living in a lettuce (I put it there) but WaSp threatened to move house if I didn't put it outside (it was my pet, honest. I named it and everything).Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
