  • Warning - the link below may contain penguins. I haven't whited it out because you have to click on it to hear it. The link is David Crepaz Keay, who is Head of Inclusion at the MH Foundation, talking about reclaiming language and what it's like for him to be mad, with no examples of his madness. I posted it because WaS was saying something about a lack of positive role models, although I think her complaint may have been more about role models with PD. Anyway, here's a great schizophrenia role model (*I* think, anyway. I have met him, ages ago when I did a PGD in Innovations in MH.)

I don't think it's likely to upset anyone, but if you get upset by people talking about their own madness (his term) without telling any horror stories of what happened during psychosis, then don't watch it :)

Chin up, dibuzz, at least your lack-of-sleep diary will help doctors see there is a problem. How many more weeks have you got to go?

Good morning, everyone. It should be a good day here weather-wise so no doubt I will end up in the park today.

Just to say that I don't think there's a penguin in your post, JM.

Being very fond of language, it is interesting how the terminology of MH changes over the years, to be more euphemistic and/or p.c.

I don't think I agree with him, though, as to me, the word 'mad' means more than a MH thing, and to me suggests something out of control, in a good or bad way, whereas a lot of MH issues are, to my mind, just points on a spectrum, and not out of control as such. But that's semantics, I suppose!

I don't agree with him either, although I would agree that he has 'mad moments'.

  • Sunday - start of the week.

Let's celebrate small pleasures, everyone please add a good thing that's happened today - maybe we could even get a few lurkers adding a little comment?:j

This morning I - had the small pleasure of opening a new jar of coffee, that lovely pop when you put your finger through the tight paper cover!

    Next please -
Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.
  • What a lovely idea!

I am working on a tender which has to be in by 5pm tomorrow. Earlier in the week it seemed unattainable, but I've just finished a major section and it's beginning to look good! (And I shouldn't be around this thread too much until after 5pm tomorrow - please throw me out if you see me lurking :D)
